James David Plummer (1967-2025) died on October 25th surrounded by family in Elmhurst. Jim was a devoted husband, loving father of three, and longtime member of the Elmhurst community.
Born in Winfield, IL on April 12, 1967, Jim attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and Immaculate Conception High School and graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1989.
Following graduation Jim lived in Chicago and started his career with Thrush Construction as a project manager in commercial real estate. This began a more than 30-year career in the Chicagoland area in commercial real estate including leadership roles at The Staubach Company and Jones Lang Lasalle.
Outside of work, Jim was a voracious reader, traveled to Canada with his father Dave and brother Bob for annual fishing trips and enjoyed golfing, hunting and spending time with friends.
Jim’s greatest joy, however, came from his family. He was the beloved husband of Beth Plummer (Schiller) for 29 years and a truly dedicated father to his three children: David, Bobby and Annie. He took pride in their accomplishments and was always their biggest supporter. An early riser his entire life, Jim was always up for driving kids to School or a quick trip up to Door County – one of his favorite getaways. He also loved early mornings with his beloved dog Willow. She brought him so much comfort and joy!
Known for his quick wit and humor, Jim married into a large family and enjoyed big holiday gatherings where he was always up for telling a funny story. He was a kind and generous neighbor and was an active community member who took pride in his Elmhurst roots.
Jim is survived by his wife, Beth, his children, David, Bobby and Annie. He is also survived by his siblings Betsy Plummer and Bob (Jessica) Plummer and their kids Landon & Tate (the East Coast Plummers). He was preceded in death by his father David Plummer and mother Sue Plummer. Loved by the entire Schiller, Murphy, Hauert, Wangler and Grobe Families. As well as the Plummer, Denzel, Wilken and Glaser Families.
