The Elmhurst Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Assault, battery
Oct. 6
Roger D. Kelley, 40, of Lombard, was issued a citation for battery in the 100 block of S. West at 6:48 p.m. Police said that subsequent to a report of a fight, the victim related the suspect grabbed him by his hoodie and chest when approaching the suspect.
Criminal damage, criminal trespassing
Oct. 7
Victims in the 200 block of E. Third reported an unknown person(s) damaged their Halloween displays on their lawns.
Domestic battery, domestic incident, disorderly conduct
Oct. 5
A victim in the 300 block of S. Route 83 reported two suspects battered him at the above location. Officers spoke with the suspects who denied any physical altercation. An investigation is pending.
Oct. 3
Sead Cikotic, 47, of Plainfield, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct near York and Seminole at 1:03 p.m. Police said that subsequent to a verbal altercation, the suspect attempted to jump out of a moving car after removing the keys while it was still being driven. The suspect then fled the scene and was later located by responding officers.
Horacio R. Crisopuli, 82, of Rolling Meadows, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct near York and Adelia at 12:55 p.m. Police said that subsequent to a disabled vehicle, Crisopuli admitted to urinating on the street after his vehicle broke down.
Oct. 2
A 30-year-old Elmhurst man was charged with aggravated domestic battery, two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of domestic battery in the 100 block of Fellows at 6:37 p.m. Police said that subsequent to a call for a domestic battery, the victim stated the suspect who is not supposed to be at the listed address, hit her, took her phone and fled the scene.
DUI, DUI-drugs, consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal possession of alcohol
Oct. 6
Ashley M. Moberg, 23, of Elmhurst, was charged with DUI, failure to yield turning left, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, driving with expired license plates, possession of open alcohol by a driver and improper lane usage near Grand and Church at 7:23 p.m.
Fleeing, eluding
According to information provided by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported no incident of fleeing and eluding during which a driver fled the scene after being stopped for a traffic stop by police.
Harassment, threats
Oct. 2
A complainant in the 200 block of E. Butterfield told police the business received threatening messages from the suspect. Contact was made with the suspect who apologized for his comments and stated he was just upset. The suspect was served with a no trespass notice.
Identity theft, fraud
According to information provided by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported three incidents of identity theft or fraud.
Obstructing identification
Oct. 7
Leonard B. Lewis, 34, of Chicago, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle, obstructing identification, no seatbelt and no insurance subsequent to a traffic stop near Roosevelt and York at 12:36 a.m.
Possession of cannabis in a vehicle
According to information provided by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported the following incidents of possession of cannabis by either the driver of a vehicle or a passenger: Anthony D. Jefferson, 30, of Chicago, near North and Oaklawn at 5:12 p.m. Oct. 3; Luis A. Valencia, 28, of Chicago, in the 600 block of W. North at 9:33 p.m. Oct. 6; Lilianna N. Astudillo, 29, of North Chicago, near North and Larch at 11 a.m. Oct. 7; and Alexandro Lujan Alvarez, 27, of Northlake, near North and Myrtle at 9:22 a.m. Oct. 8.
Possession of a controlled substance
Oct. 2
Police said that subsequent to a call for a disturbance in the 300 block of S. Route 83, it was determined that Jose M. Torres-Rios, 32, of Villa Park, threw an object at the complainant. Torres-Rios was placed under arrest and a suspected controlled substance was located. He was transported to the police station where he was released pending lab results

Oct. 8
Michelle R. Loewer, 25, of Elmhurst, was issued citations for prowling and two counts of obstructing police, while Aydon D. Seymour, 24, of Elmhurst, was issued a citation for prowling in the 600 block of S. Mitchell at 12:18 a.m. Police said officers responded for the report of two masked subjects with hoodies on looking into car windows.

A complainant in the 100 block of N. York told police she received a hand written letter that threatened her with battery. An investigation is pending.
Theft, retail theft, burglary
Oct. 6
Police said a victim related he noticed his wallet missing while at a fitness center in the 600 block of N. York. He also received a notification from his bank that someone attempted to make several fraudulent charges. An investigation is pending.
Oct. 5
Laroy D. Redmond, 51, of Chicago, was charged with burglary, retail theft and possession of controlled substance at a store in the 900 block of S. York at 8:01 p.m.
Oct. 3
A complainant in the 100 block of E. Vallette reported that an unknown suspect entered her unlocked, running vehicle and stole two credit cards and $20. An investigation is pending.
Sept. 25
A complainant at a store in the 200 block of S. Route 83 reported the suspect had taken unpaid merchandise before fleeing the scene. An investigation is pending.
Unlawful use of cannabis
Oct. 5
Jacob A. Cunningham, 33, of Lombard, and Richard S. Haiman, 56, of Hoffman Estates, were issued citations for use of cannabis in a public place near St. Charles and Route 83 at 3:55 p.m.
Oct 3
Courtney N. Pearson, 31, of Chicago, was issued a citation for use of cannabis in public in the 100 block of E. Brush Hill at 1:27 p.m.
Warrant arrest
Oct. 7
Police said officers were waved down by a subject near Route 83 and Riverside at 1:10 a.m. who was found to have a valid failure to appear warrant out of DuPage County. Mark A. Herrera, 37, of Villa Park, was processed on the warrant and transported to the DuPage County Jail.
Police said a victim in the 100 block of E. North related an unauthorized person(s) made fraudulent transactions on her stolen credit cards on Nov. 24, 2024. On the above date, police said Jasmine Powell, 37, of Dolton, turned herself in on an Elmhurst original warrant for two counts of attempted identity theft.
Oct. 4
Police said that subsequent to a traffic stop near I-290 and St. Charles at 3:26 a.m., the driver—Fabian D. Mitchell, 31, of Maywood—was found to have a suspended driver’s license, was in possession of a controlled substance, and had an active warrant from the Schaumburg Police Department. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespass to a vehicle, driving while license suspended, and was released to the custody of Schaumburg police.
