Elmhurst Police Reports

The Elmhurst Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

Damage to property, criminal trespassing

June 4

Martique D. Barksdale, 43, of Villa Park, was charged with criminal trespass to property in the 100 block of S. Prospect at 12:49 p.m.

A complainant in the 900 block of S. York reported an unknown suspect rammed his cart into her multiple times. An investigation is pending.

June 1

A complainant in the 100 block of E. Butterfield told police that a group of juveniles damaged the employees-only door at the register counter and fled the scene. An investigation is pending.

DUI, DUI-drugs, consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal possession of alcohol

June 3

Kevin A. Kost, 31, of Batavia, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage near Oake and North at 2:28 a.m.

May 31

Nikko A. De Pasquale, 31, of Addison, was charged with DUI, obstructing an officer, fleeing and eluding, driving while license suspended, two counts of improper lane usage, disobeying a stop sign, failure to signal, transportation of open alcohol and no insurance subsequent to an attempted traffic stop near Villa and St. Charles at 2:54 a.m. Police said the suspect fled at a high rate of speed; then Villa Park police observed the suspect walking away from his vehicle, took him into custody and transferred custody to Elmhurst police where he was placed under arrest.

Identity theft, fraud

According to information provided by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported five incidents of identity theft or fraud.

Possession of cannabis in a vehicle

According to information provided by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported one incident of possession of cannabis by either the driver of a vehicle or a passenger: Dawood F. Hanash, 20, of Chicago, near North and Michigan at 10:10 p.m. June 3.

Suspicious incident

June 3

A complainant near Schiller and Haven told police told police while out for a walk she observed a vehicle appear to follow her. Further investigation is pending.

June 2

Complainants in the 400 block of W. Fremont reported discovering two unknown persons asleep inside their residence. The suspects advised the victims they believed the home belonged to a friend and had entered through an unlocked back door during the night. The complainants informed the officer that the two persons left without incident when asked to do so. An investigation is pending.

May 29

Jose Velasquez Jr., 22, of Elmhurst, was charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance in the 200 block of E. North.

Police said a complainant at a gas station in the 300 block of W. Butterfield did not want a subject on the property and requested the subject be served with a no-trespass notice from the business. The reporting officer served the subject with a no-trespass notice.

Theft, retail theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery

June 4

Isaac Owens, 60, of Chicago, was charged with two counts of retail theft at a pharmacy in the 100 block of W. North.

June 3

A complainant at  a gas station in the 200 block of E. Butterfield told police that an unknown person(s) in a black Ford Explorer pumped gas and left without paying. An investigation is pending.

June 1

Police said officers responded to a business in the 600 block of W. North at 12:21 a.m. for a burglar alarm. Upon their arrival, the glass front door to each business was shattered. U.S. currency and a cash register were stolen. An investigation is pending.

May 31

An officer responded to a store in the 300 block of S. Route 83 for a delayed report of a retail theft. An investigation is pending.

May 29

Officers responded to the report of a burglary a vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of E. Schiller. The vehicle’s owner was located, and it was determined that currency had been taken from the vehicle. Three suspects were later located and placed under arrest. Jontrey R. Houston, 24, of Houston, Texas, was charged with burglary, theft, improper use of registration/title, and unauthorized use of handicapped parking. Jamond D. Johnson, 27, of Windemere, Texas, was charged with burglary, theft, and unlawful possession of cannabis by a passenger. Anthony D. Mackintrush, 24, of Dallas, Texas, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

May 20

Police said an unknown suspect removed a solar panel from a business in the 300 block of S. Route 83.

Warrant arrest

June 1

Police said that subsequent to an argument in the 900 block of N. Virginia at 3:26 a.m., Fabiola L. Garcia, 19, of Addison, admitted to striking a victim. The victim, Ronaldo L. Gomez-Chavez, 24, of Elmhurst, was found to have four valid failure to appear traffic warrants from the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office. Garcia was charged with battery. Gomez-Chavez was processed on the warrants and was released. Jasmine Nazario, 20, of Elmhurst, was cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor.

May 31

Police said that subsequent to the report of a driver passed out behind the wheel near Virginia and Diversey at 10:39 p.m., Terrie L. Church, 51, of Schiller Park, was found to be DUI and to have two failure to appear warrants out of DuPage County and Cook County. Police said she was processed on the warrants and charged with DUI, driving while license revoked, transportation of open alcohol, improper parking on roadway and no insurance.
