Lombard police report—October 31

INFORMATION TAKEN FROM LOMBARD POLICE FILES

The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17 or younger are not named.

Criminal damage, trespassing

Oct. 22

A complainant in the 200 block of N. Craig said his Halloween decorations had been damaged.

Oct. 20

A victim in the 1-100 block of Yorktown said an unknown person cut the brake line on her vehicle.

Domestic battery, disorderly conduct, domestic incident, dispute, disturbance

Oct. 20

Muaviya Mohammad, 20, of Lombard, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 810 E. Butterfield, at 5:10 p.m.

A 40-year-old Lombard man was charged with domestic battery in the 1000 block of E. Division at 7:42 p.m.

Oct. 18

A complainant at a store in the 200 block of E. Roosevelt reported a subject described as a black male rubbed up against her with his genitals. The suspect left in a silver SUV.

Oct. 16

An employee at Jewel-Osco, 1177 S. Main, reported that a male customer was yelling at another employee, and that she did not want the customer to return. An officer advised the customer that he is no longer allowed at this Jewel-Osco store.

DUI, transportation of open alcohol

Oct. 20

Timothy Dunn, 35, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with DUI, speeding and expired plates near Roosevelt and Surrey at 2:22 a.m.

Rui Qian, 38 of Naperville, was charged with DUI, stopping on a roadway and no insurance near E. 22nd and S. Grace at 12:03 a.m.

James Sutton, 32, of Chicago, was charged with DUI-drugs and alcohol, possession of cannabis, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and using an electronic device on a roadway in the 100 block of W. Roosevelt at 2:48 a.m.

Enrique Castillo Villa, 42, of Elgin, was charged with DUI-drugs and possession of a controlled substance near W. Roosevelt and S. Main at 3:49 a.m.

Cesar Zavala, 40, of Chicago, was charged with DUI near S. Ahrens and E. Roosevelt at 12:43 a.m.

Oct. 19

Erika Martinez, 20, of Hammond, Indiana, was charged with DUI and possession of cannabis in a vehicle near E. North and N. Grace at 2:44 a.m.

Cecil Phillips IV, 28, of Calumet Park, was charged with DUI in the 2300 block of S. Fountain Square at 1:32 a.m.

Oct. 17

Leadnro Soto-Zacatzi, 42, of Lombard, was charged with DUI, obstructing, criminal damage to property, making an improper turn, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no insurance near W. Pinebrook and S. Finley at 2:59 a.m.

Harassment, threats

Oct. 19

A complainant in the 1000 block of E. Roosevelt reported a subject began showing up at her workplace. She is concerned for her safety.

A victim in the 700 block of Hawthorn said he was receiving unwanted messages from a subject.

Identity theft, fraud

According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, police reported eight incidents of identity theft or fraud between Oct. 16 and Oct. 22.

Suspicious incident

Oct. 21

Police said two juveniles brought toy guns to Westmore Elementary School, 340 S. School. Parents and school administrators handled discipline of the juveniles.

A victim in the 600 block of E. Lilac sent photos to someone he had met online. The unknown suspect demanded money from the victim and threatened to send the photos to the victim’s family.

Oct. 18

Officers were notified that Dick’s Sporting Goods in Oswego had a retail theft and the suspects’ vehicles—a Chrysler 200 and GMC Terrain—were headed east on Butterfield toward Dick’s Sporting Goods at 810 E. Butterfield. Officers checked the area and were later notified both vehicles were identified on a plate reader and headed eastbound on I-290.

A caller reported a male trying to open a car door with a prying device near E. South Broadway and S. School at 6:28 p.m. Police made contact with the subject, who refused to identify himself, refused police assistance, and walked to his home.

Oct. 17

A caller reported a female subject ran screaming into traffic near W. North and N. West at 5:27 a.m. She then went into a Dunkin’ Donuts shop. No one matching the description was located.

Oct. 16

There was a report of boys who appeared to be fighting outside AMC Theater, 80 Yorktown, at 6:31 p.m., and then left in a vehicle. The boys and the vehicle had all left upon an officer’s arrival.

A caller reported at 9:41 p.m. that a subject was drinking an open can of beer at the self-checkout at Jewel-Osco, 1177 S. Main, and was staring at an employee. He was gone prior to an officer’s arrival.

Theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery

Oct. 21

A complainant in the 2000 block of St. Regis reported her juvenile daughter stole her vehicle, and was missing. The juvenile and the vehicle were later located in Ohio.

Complainants at Big Kangaroo, Inc., 300 W. North, advised funds from laundry machines were unaccounted for. Two previous employees were suspected.

A victim in the 1-100 block of W. Roosevelt reported several items missing from her vehicle after it had been left for service at a business. Employees of the business denied taking anything.

Oct. 19

A complainant in the 300 block of Yorktown reported the bolts that hold up his vehicle’s tailgate had been stolen.

A complainant in the 100 block of E. Sunset reported at 11:12 a.m. that someone stole a political sign from her front yard.

Oct. 17

A victim in the 400 block of E. 22nd said he had a collection of baseball cards stolen from the lobby. Someone came to the lobby and said he took the cards for safekeeping after finding them left out.

A victim in the 900 block of W. Oak Creek reported a catalytic converter was stolen off of his Ford truck.

A victim in the 800 block of W. Foxworth had his credit card stolen. An unknown suspect reportedly made several purchases with the credit card.

Retail theft

The Lombard Police Department reported the following incident of retail theft or attempted retail theft that took place in the village between Oct. 16 and Oct. 22: Dick’s Sporting Goods, 810 E. Butterfield, at 2:05 p.m. Oct. 17.

Oct. 20

Tanaya Flores, 28, of Maywood, was issued a citation for retail theft at Target, 60 Yorktown, at 2:12 p.m.

Warrant arrest

Oct. 20

Police said Chanel Barnes, 24, of Phoenix, Arizona, was transported to the Lombard Police Department for a valid warrant out of Arizona from the 2300 block of S. Fountain Square at 8:17 a.m.

Police said Ryan Williams, 19, of Sugar Grove, was charged with public indecency and disorderly conduct in the 1-100 block of Yorktown at 8:13 p.m. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail on a warrant.

Oct. 19

Police said Jamiere Harper, 29, of Maywood, was processed at the Lombard Police Department for an outstanding warrant.
