Glenbard East High School’s flag football program made its varsity debut on Sept 9. The Rams’ varsity team played its inaugural game against Glenbard West in Lombard. The Hilltoppers defeated Glenbard East 38-6. The Rams scored their only touchdown on a short pass from sophomore Ally Amrhein to senior Brissa Sarabia in the second half. Earlier this year, the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) announced that girls flag football would debut as an IHSA state series in the fall of 2024. The inaugural state tournament will take place Willowbrook High School next month (Oct. 18-19).
