INFORMATION TAKEN FROM LOMBARD POLICE FILES
The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17 or younger are not named.
Assault, battery
July 4
Two witnesses and a victim at Madison Meadow reported at 9:58 p.m. that a subject battered the victim for an unknown reason. The subject fled the area.
Criminal damage, criminal trespassing
July 6
An employee at Heritage Cadillac, 303 W. Roosevelt, advised at 12:40 p.m. that a subject became angry when the employee refused to show the subject security footage of an accident involving the subject that occurred at the dealership. An officer entered criminal trespass orders for the subject, who left the property.
Domestic battery, disorderly conduct, domestic incident, dispute, disturbance
July 6
A 33-year-old Lombard man was charged with domestic battery in the 2100 block of S. Finley at 5:12 p.m.
July 4
A complainant in the 2700 block of S. Highland said his apartment neighbor banged on his door and yelled at him. The complainant wanted the incident documented.
DUI
July 4
Carlton Montgomery, 32, of Chicago, was charged with DUI near Roosevelt and Westmore-Meyers at 1:22 a.m.
Harassment, threats
July 6
A complainant in the 2300 block of S. Main advised that a former friend of her husband’s arrived at their apartment and was threatening them. The subject was gone upon an officer’s arrival.
July 5
Police said an unknown male on a bike near Grace and the Great Western Trail was making threatening comments to people. The man was gone upon an officer’s arrival.
Identity theft, fraud, forgery
According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, police reported three incidents of identity theft or fraud in which a victim’s identity was fraudulently used either to make charges on a credit card, open a business, bank or credit account, fraudulently deposit checks, alter a check, receive unemployment benefits—or a victim was convinced by a subject to deposit money into an account, send a check, or to buy gift cards.
Suspicious incident
July 6
Police said Yorktown Security advised at 3:53 a.m. that an unknown male hopped the fence to a circus that was in the parking lot and went into a portable toilet. An officer met with the subject, who denied hopping the fence. The subject left the area.
A complainant at Madison Meadow advised at 5:59 p.m. that subjects were having sex behind a tree. The subjects were gone upon an officer’s arrival.
July 5
A caller in the 2200 block of S. Highland reported suspicious males in a parking garage. Officers did not observe anyone or evidence of burglarized vehicles. Officers were later called back to check the locker room, with no results.
July 3
A complainant in the 200 block of W. Sunset advised at 8:36 p.m. that while crossing the street with her daughter, a male subject drove at a high rate of speed, almost hitting her daughter. An officer met with the subject, who advised he was yelled at by an unknown female, but he did not see any children in the area.
A complainant advised at 4:36 p.m. of dropping off her juvenile daughter and her two cousins at Forever 21, 203 Yorktown, to shop. While shopping, they were approached by a male in high heels who made them feel uncomfortable. The subject was not located.
A complainant in the 1000 block of S. Apple advised at 12:37 p.m. of a subject described as a Hispanic male blocking the driveway and taking off clothing. An officer spoke to the subject, a juvenile, who advised he was fine and left in his landscaping truck.
An employee at SureStay Plus, 260 E. 22nd, advised of finding a gun in the parking lot. The gun was placed into property.
July 2
A caller in the 1100 block of E. Cambria Lane advised at 5:43 p.m. she could hear someone knocking at her door, and that there was a gray car in front of her house. The area was checked with no results.
A complainant at Target, 60 Yorktown, reported at 10:39 p.m. that a female who was screaming then got into a silver car with a male driver. The area was checked with no results.
Theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery
July 5
A complainant in the 400 block of W. St. Charles reported that someone stole his medications from his car.
July 3
A complainant in the Yorktown Shopping Center parking lot advised at 2:11 p.m. that her purse and contents were taken from her vehicle.
July 2
A complainant in the 2700 block of S. Highland advised at 9:55 a.m. that his white 2019 Dodge Charger Scat Pack was stolen from the parking garage.
A complainant in the 2700 block of S. Highland reported at 4:24 p.m. the theft of her 2016 black Maserati Ghibli. The vehicle was entered into LEADS.
Retail theft
The Lombard Police Department reported the following incidents of retail theft or attempted retail theft that took place in the village between July 2 and July 6: Target, 60 Yorktown, at 8:15 p.m. on July 6; and JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 8:54 p.m. on July 6.
July 6
Jose Robles, 69, of Westchester, was issued a citation for retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 2:17 p.m.
July 5
Michael Daniels (no age given) of Wheaton, was charged with retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 1:15 p.m.
When an officer arrived near Finley and Roosevelt at 1:41 p.m., a subject was out of his disabled vehicle and admitted to stealing the vehicle from the Jewel-Osco in Glen Ellyn. The Glen Ellyn Police Department is investigating the theft.
July 3
Jose Romero Rodriguez, 21, of Cicero, was issued a citation for retail theft at Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 6:28 p.m.
July 2
Johnny Crawl, 32, of Warrenville, was charged with retail theft at Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 12:47 p.m.
Warrant arrest
July 3
Police said Steven Fret, 72, of Lombard, was transported to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office on a failure to appear warrant.
