Lombard police report—July 11

INFORMATION TAKEN FROM LOMBARD POLICE FILES

The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17 or younger are not named.

Assault, battery

June 30
A complainant at 7-Eleven, 801 S. Westmore, advised at 9:32 p.m. that after arguing with a subject described as a white male, a Slurpee was thrown at her. Video of the incident will be provided to police at a later time.

June 29
Vincent Amato, 30, of Crystal Lake, was charged with battery in the 1300 block of S. Finley at 9:23 a.m.
A juvenile complainant near Main and St. Charles came into the police station at 11:40 p.m. and advised of being battered by two unknown juveniles.

Criminal damage, criminal trespassing

July 1
A complainant in the 800 block of E. Washington advised at 6:53 p.m. the rear window of his vehicle was shattered. An airsoft pellet was located inside the vehicle.

June 30
A complainant in the 100 block of N. Park advised an unknown subject shot a window at her residence with a BB gun.

June 29
A complainant in the 1-100 block of S. Main advised that an unknown subject damaged the windshield of their vehicle.

June 26
A complainant in the 300 block of N. Lombard advised his car was damaged by fireworks.

Domestic battery, disorderly conduct, domestic incident, dispute, disturbance

June 28
An employee at Jewel-Osco, 1177 S. Main, reported at 5:19 p.m. that a subject entered the store with his bicycle and was asked to leave. The subject became upset that police showed up, but left the store without further incident.

June 27
A 48-year-old Downers Grove man was charged with domestic battery at DuPage PADS at 10:22 p.m.

DUI

June 28
Rudy Ramos Garcia, 25, of Chicago, was charged with DUI near S. Westmore-Meyers and E. Woodrow at 9:39 p.m.

June 27
A juvenile was charged with DUI in the 1100 block of S. Main at 11:33 p.m.

Harassment, threats

June 30
A complainant in the 100 block of W. Harrison advised that a subject has been harassing him over a girl through text messages. The subject advised the messaging was mutual. Both parties were advised to avoid contact with each other.

June 27
A complainant in the 100 block of N. Park advised that her daughter, a juvenile, was receiving text messages threatening to kidnap her. The text was coming from an unknown number.
A complainant at Aldi, 205 W. Roosevelt, advised she was approached by a subject described as a black male who made comments that made her uncomfortable. The subject then walked away. Police did not locate the subject.
A complainant in the 2400 block of S. Finley advised at 8:10 a.m. of receiving two harassing text messages from unknown senders. She was recently involved with the firing of two employees. An officer tried to make contact with both suspects with no results.

June 24
A complainant in the 1000 block of E. Wilson advised that a subject had called and emailed her several threats in reference to the subject’s children. The subject advised that the complainant has been yelling at their children and he was just telling her to stop yelling at the children.

Identity theft, fraud, forgery

According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, police reported 10 incidents of identity theft or fraud in which a victim’s identity was fraudulently used either to make charges on a credit card, open a business, bank or credit account, fraudulently deposit checks, alter a check, receive unemployment benefits—or a victim was convinced by a subject to deposit money into an account, send a check, or to buy gift cards.

Suspicious incident

July 1
A complainant in the 300 block of S. School advised at 12:50 p.m. that she noticed three boys hitting a plastic Santa with a crowbar. The complainant took the Santa and crowbar from the juveniles and brought them to the police department.

June 28
The Lombard Police Department received a notice from the FBI that a complainant in the 2700 block of S. Highland had reported suspicious behavior regarding a neighbor. A check was made and the complainant’s concerns were documented.

June 27
A complainant in the 400 block of W. Hickory advised at 7:29 p.m. that he heard neighbors threatening harm to him while he was inside his residence. The neighbors denied the claim and will continue to avoid him while outside.

June 26
A Pace bus driver advised that a subject started slamming on the doors and trying to open them when the driver did not stop the bus. The subject left the area to a nearby bus stop at Yorktown Center.
A complainant at 55 Yorktown advised that someone is breaking into her home and scratching her furniture. An officer spoke to a building employee, who advised that the building was secure and there have been no complaints of non-residents in the building.

June 25
A complainant in the 2100 block of S. Finley advised of a scratch on his vehicle and suspects his neighbor did it out of retaliation.
A caller in the 800 block of E. Butterfield advised her ex-boyfriend would not get out of her vehicle. The caller then advised she would take him home because he gave her more money for the ride. She refused to give any more information.

Theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery

June 30
A complainant at the Yorktown Shopping Center advised at 9:37 a.m. that her temporary Indiana license plate had been removed from the back of the vehicle while the vehicle was parked.

June 29
A victim in the 2700 block of S. Highland reported his black 2017 Dodge Charger was stolen from a parking garage.
A juvenile was issued citations for obstructing identification, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct near Main and St. Charles at 7:37 p.m.

June 28
Officers observed broken glass while responding to an alarm call at Enchanted Castle, 1102 S. Main, at 2:53 a.m. An employee pulled up security footage that showed two subjects enter through the broken window. The ATM machine was opened and cash was taken.
Three victims at Altitude Trampoline Park, 481 E. Roosevelt, advised at 8:21 p.m. that they each had cash stolen out of their lockers.

Retail theft

The Lombard Police Department reported the following incidents of retail theft or attempted retail theft that took place in the village between June 25 and July 1: Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 7:07 p.m. June 25; Mochi Donut, 203 Yorktown, at 7:07 p.m. June 25; Journey’s Kids, 131 Yorktown, at 8:56 p.m. June 25; Nori Sushi, 203 Yorktown, at 8:57 p.m. June 25; Target, 60 Yorktown, at 3:08 p.m. June 27; Jewel-Osco, 1177 S. Main, at 11:33 p.m. June 27; Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 8:57 p.m. June 28.

June 27
Rosa Morales, 48, of Streamwood, was charged with retail theft at Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 6:39 p.m.

June 26
Letitia Di Andrea, 55, of Glen Ellyn, was issued a citation for retail theft at Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 4:10 p.m.

Violation of an order of protection

June 27
Marvin Brown, 40, of Lombard, was charged with violation of an order of protection at Madison Meadow at 10:58 a.m.

Warrant arrest

July 1
Police said Kerry Kennebrew, 27, of Schaumburg, was processed on a warrant for obstructing justice, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful display of registration, no valid driver’s license, driving with expired plates and no insurance near Sidney and Route 53 at 3:25 a.m.
Police said Kyle Rachel, 46 of Lombard, was taken into custody in the 200 block of S. Vance at 6:48 p.m. on a Kane County warrant.

June 30
Police said Eric Hart, 59, of Villa Park, turned himself in on a failure to appear warrant at 10:42 a.m.

June 27
Police said Devona Bates, 33, of Chicago, was issued a Lombard Police Department original warrant for burglary and retail theft.
Police said Richard Bray Jr., 31, of Lombard, was processed on a warrant near Roosevelt and Garfield at 9:04 p.m.
Police said Joseph White, 38, of Lombard, was processed on a warrant in the 800 block of W. Foxworth at 10:49 p.m.
