INFORMATION TAKEN FROM LOMBARD POLICE FILES
The Lombard Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17 or younger are not named.
Assault, battery
June 15
Ahmed Zeshan, 29, of Lombard, turned himself in, was charged with battery, and was transported to the DuPage County Jail for pre-trial release conditions.
June 11
A victim in the 200 block of W. Collen reported she was assaulted by a subject while in Rosemont. The case was referred to the Rosemont Police Department.
A complainant in the 1100 block of S. Main reported a juvenile struck her and another juvenile. The juvenile was picked up by his mother, but it was discovered the mother was wanted on a warrant. The mother was advised she would need to turn herself in at the courthouse.
Criminal damage, criminal trespassing
June 17
A victim in the 100 block of E. Morningside advised individual lights had been cut from a strand of lights that was located along his fence.
Domestic battery, disorderly conduct, domestic incident, dispute, disturbance
June 17
Police said five juveniles ran up to a house in the 300 block of S. Ahrens at 10:08 p.m. and kicked the front door. Four of the juveniles were located and issued citations for disorderly conduct.
June 13
A 22-year-old Lombard woman was charged with domestic battery in the 200 block of W. Collen at 12:33 a.m.
A 41-year-old Lombard man was charged with domestic battery, assault and unlawful use of a weapon in the 1300 block of S. Finley at 11:29 p.m.
DUI
June 17
Jose A. Nunez Benitez, 49, of Chicago, was charged with DUI in the 2100 block of S. Finley at 2:29 a.m.
June 16
Mary Katherine Davis, 41, of Wheaton, was charged with DUI, speeding, improper lane usage and no insurance near Finley and Foxworth at 12:03 a.m.
Christopher Jones, 23, of Rochelle, was charged with DUI, driving with expired license plates and no insurance near 22nd and Meyers at 3:39 a.m.
June 15
Terell Sitneh, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, was charged with DUI and speeding near Roosevelt and I-355 at 1:56 a.m.
Fleeing, eluding
According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, police reported one incident of fleeing and eluding during which the driver of a vehicle fled the scene after being stopped for a traffic stop by police.
Harassment, threats
June 17
A complainant in the 2100 block of S. Finley advised at 11:13 p.m. that a subject posted vulgar comments on the complainant’s company website.
June 15
A complainant in the 100 block of W. Collen reported receiving text messages from two unknown numbers threatening to harm the complainant if she appeared in court.
June 10
A female victim in the 600 block of S. Charlotte advised that a subject made videos of himself with the victim without her consent and then sent them to her family members as retaliation for a break-up.
Identity theft, fraud, forgery
According to information provided by the Lombard Police Department, police reported eight incidents of identity theft or fraud in which a victim’s identity was fraudulently used either to make charges on a credit card, open a business, bank or credit account, fraudulently deposit checks, alter a check, receive unemployment benefits—or a victim was convinced by a subject to deposit money into an account, send a check, or to buy gift cards.
Road rage
June 12
A complainant near Columbine and St. Charles advised a vehicle attempted to cut her off and started to tailgate her. An officer tried to make contact with the subject, but the subject hung up after initial contact with the officer. The officer was unable to leave a message.
June 11
A complainant in the 200 block of E. Roosevelt reported a Chevrolet SUV blocked her in her parking space, and then blocked her when she tried to exit onto Roosevelt Road.
Suspicious incident
June 14
A complainant in the 1300 block of S. Finley reported a neighbor spit on him. An officer spoke over the phone to the neighbor, who said he would turn himself in on a warrant.
June 13
A complainant near Jackson and Westmore-Meyers advised of seeing two subjects described as a black female and male walking down the center of the street, and the male started to chase the female. An officer checked the area and did not locate anyone.
A complainant at Sunset Knoll park reported at 9:02 p.m. that a subject described as a white male whispered, “I love you” while she was walking in the park. The complainant later found a flower on her car door handle. She was advised to call the police if the male engages her in conversation again.
A complainant in the 600 block of S. Grace tried to pick up a Black Lives Matter sign that had fallen down, only to find it was poked through with dozens of rusty push pins.
Theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery
June 17
A victim in the 500 block of E. Berkshire reported his pride flag was stolen.
June 15
A complainant in the 700 block of S. Chase reported she sold a couch on Facebook Marketplace to a subject, but video shows the subject only pretended to leave money for the couch in her mailbox. The subject agreed to bring the cash to the Lombard Police Department.
June 11
A complainant in the 100 block of E. Majestic reported golf clubs and golf balls were taken from his unsecured vehicle.
A complainant in the 1000 block of S. Westmore-Meyers reported his blue 2018 Dodge Journey was stolen from the parking lot. He has both key fobs in his possession.
A complainant in the 1000 block of W. Westmore-Meyers reported that a subject took the Apple Watch she purchased for her daughter during the subject’s visitation, and that the subject would not return it.
Retail theft
The Lombard Police Department reported the following incidents of retail theft or attempted retail theft that took place in the village between June 10 and June 17: JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 3:32 p.m. June 10; Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 8:22 p.m. June 11; Champs, 112 Yorktown, at 6:22 p.m. June 12; Von Maur, 145 Yorktown, at 3:56 p.m. June 14.
June 17
Johnathon A. Franco, 32, of Naperville, was charged with retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 5:01 p.m.
June 14
Marcela Campos, 38, of Berwyn, was issued a citation for retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 3:37 p.m.
Timothy Reedy, 42, of Oak Park, was charged with retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 7:08 p.m.
June 12
Irma Lopez, 58, and Alida Cardenas, 69, both of Chicago, were charged with retail theft at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 4:23 p.m.
Warrant arrest
June 17
Police said Gary J. Coyote, 30, of Naperville, was transported to the DuPage County Jail on four warrants, and also was charged with retail theft and obstructing identification at JCPenney, 175 Yorktown, at 5:01 p.m.
June 14
A subject was picked up on a warrant for battery and domestic battery, and transported directly to the DuPage County Jail. During the arrest, the subject was combative and damaged a squad car window.
