Two arrested after hit-and-run leaves tire on Washington St.

According to a report from DuPage East Scanner, a hit-and-run incident took place on Thursday, March 28 at about 7 p.m., when a third-party called police saying a red sports car and a black SUV had been involved in an accident and that the red car left northbound on York Road. The car traveled westbound on McKinley from Washington and police said there was a brown conversion van following the car, reportedly on the rim of one of his wheels, because one of the tires was missing. That tire that had been left behind on the 700 block of south Washington.

Another caller notified police that two white males were seen driving a red Corvette emitting heavy smoke from under the hood due to front end damage.  The two men parked the vehicle in the 600 block of Parkside and got out.

Police pursued the other suspect vehicle which reportedly had a male driver and a female passenger, both of whom were taken into custody on the 600 block of Prospect at Grandview. A witness took of video and offered it to police. Another resident noticed the tire on south Washington in the roadway and agreed not to touch it so police could obtain photos.
