At the Addison Village Board meeting on Monday, Feb. 5, Mayor Richard Veenstra and the Village Board of Trustees recognized several promotions within the Department’s Command staff and welcomed new officers.
Police Chief Roy Selvik, who took the helm in Dec., introduced his new team before they took their oaths of office:
• Chris Weinbrenner was appointed Deputy Chief.
Weinbrenner joined the department in 2004, serving in the patrol division until 2011, when he was assigned as Special Projects Unit officer, overseeing CALEA certification. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2020, and Commander in 2023.
• Omar Brucal was appointed Administrative Commander.
Joining the department in 2000, Brucal was a member in patrol until 2006 before 11 years as a crime prevention officer. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2020.
• Pat Glomb was appointed Field Services Commander.
Glomb was hired in 2007, serving in Patrol Division, DUMEG, the Gang Tactical Unit and Detective. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2022.
• Steve Kazak was promoted to Sergeant.
Kazak joined the department in 2014, serving in the Patrol Division until 2020, when he became Crime Prevention Officer. In 2022, he was tasked with overseeing CALEA certification.
In addition to promotions, Chief Selvik introduced new officers chosen by the Addison Police Commission, who were sworn in by deputy village clerk Mary Heneghan. Those officers are: Charles Barth, Tomasz Hap, Ulises Hernandez, Isaac Luna and Natalie Obrzut.
