Police Reports

The Elmhurst Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

Domestic battery, domestic incident, disorderly conduct, disturbance, dispute

Jan. 10

Carlos Bahena, 29, of Elmhurst, was charged with a local ordinance violation for disorderly conduct-loud noise in the 100 block of N. Willow at 11 p.m. Police said that Subsequent to a report of a verbal domestic, the suspect was found intoxicated and yelling at the above location.

Jan. 8

An officer responded for a reported of a verbal domestic in the 200 block of N. Addison at 11:45 p.m. The victim stated a verbal argument turned physical. The suspect left the area in an Uber. The officer attempted to contact the suspect with no results.

Jan. 7

William Klee, 66, of Berwyn, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct/befouling property in the 200 block of E. Butterfield at 11:16 a.m. for allegedly urinating in public.

Police said that Subsequent to a report of a disturbance at a business in the 100 block of N. York at 12:38 a.m., a complainant related an altercation started when the suspect was denied re-entry at the above location due to being highly intoxicated. A no trespass notice was served and the suspect left the scene.

Police said that subsequent to a verbal argument in the 400 block of N. Ridgeland at 1:13 p.m., a complainant related he pushed the victim in self-defense. A reporting officer arrived on scene, and the victim became uncooperative. No arrests were made.

Jan. 5

Police said that subsequent to a report of an intoxicated person, at a hotel in the 300 block of N. Route 83 at 5:19 a.m., a reporting officer located the suspect, who became combative. Charges are pending for battery and resisting/obstructing a police officer.

Police said that subsequent to a verbal argument in the 100 block of E. North at 1:20 p.m., a victim related the suspect hit him in the face. The suspect told police the victim attempted to kick her. Due to conflicting statements and no visible signs of injury, no arrests were made. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening.

DUI, DUI-drugs, transportation of open alcohol, possession of open alcohol, consumption of alcohol by a minor

Jan. 9

Walter D. Garcia Lopez, 33, of Bensenville, was charged with DUI and possession of open alcohol in the 900 block of N. York at 11:40 p.m.

Jan. 5

Cora Anderson, 63, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting a police officer, possession of cannabis, illegal transportation of alcohol, no insurance, speeding, disobeying a traffic control device and failure to signal subsequent to a traffic stop near York and Arthur at 7:18 p.m.

Dawne Wright, 30, of Westchester, was charged with DUI, unlawful possession of cannabis, transportation of open alcohol and failure to signal subsequent to a traffic stop near Roosevelt and Route 83 at 2:27 a.m.

Jan. 4

Tracy L. Odonnell, 49, of Lockport, was charged with DUI, failure to give information to owner after striking unattended vehicle or property, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no insurance near Route 83 and North at 12:50 a.m.

Firearms charge

Jan. 5

Police said officers responded to a hotel in the 300 block of No. Route 83 at 5:32 a.m. for a report of shots fired, subsequently finding a bullet hole. After further investigation, Kyle Lochman, 21, of Lisle, was located and charged with aggravated discharge of firearm and reckless conduct.

Fleeing, eluding

According to information provided last week by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported two incidents of fleeing and eluding during which the driver of a vehicle fled the scene after being stopped for a traffic stop by police.

Identity theft, fraud, forgery

According to information provided by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported four incidents of identity theft or fraud.

Suspicious circumstances

Jan. 7

A victim in the 100 block of S. York told police she was at a bar having a drink and left it unattended while she went to the bathroom. When she returned, she noticed a powdery substance floating inside the drink. The suspect, who was sitting next to her, began to ask her personal questions before she left. The victim stated she went home, became extremely intoxicated, and began to get sick. An investigation is pending.

Dec. 31-Jan. 1

A complainant at a business in the 200 block of N. Addison told police a suspect described as a black male failed to return a key fob and entered the property at a later time with another suspect, described as a black female. The suspects are to be issued a no-trespass order if identified.

Theft, retail theft, burglary, attempted theft or burglary, forgery, deceptive practice, obstruction, robbery

Jan. 9

Marie Velez, 40, of Elmhurst, was charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, while two juveniles were charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated battery in the 500 block of W. Grand at 11:26 p.m. According to police, a victim stopped his vehicle for several pedestrians walking in the road. Velez and two male juveniles allegedly battered and robbed the victim of his wallet.

Jan. 7

Alexander Davis, 21, of West Park, Fla., was charged with obstructing identification at a hotel in the 500 block of W. Grand at 10:20 p.m. Police said that subsequent to a report of a vehicle involved in a burglary, a reporting officer located the vehicle at the above location and the driver, Davis, was later apprehended. While in custody, Davis allegedly provided false information.

A complainant at a store in the 300 block of S. Route 83 told police that two unknown suspects took several items of merchandise and exited the store without paying. An investigation is pending.

Jan. 6

Police said that subsequent to a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of E. St. Charles, Villa Park, at 10:26 p.m., Elmhurst officers assisted with the apprehension of two armed-robbery suspects. The stolen vehicle in which they were traveling, had reportedly been involved in armed robberies in Franklin Park and Chicago.

Jan. 5

A victim in the 200 block of E. Gladys told police that after reviewing her Ring doorbell camera footage, she observed an unknown suspect described as a white male remove a package from her doorstep and leave in a dark-colored SUV. An investigation is pending.

Jan. 3

A complainant at a store in the 900 block of N. Larch told police that a spare tire from a company vehicle was removed by an unknown suspect(s). An investigation is pending.

Dec. 22

A complainant at a business in the 200 block of W. Butterfield told police a suspect paid for her vehicle services. Then later, the complainant received a dispute on their account regarding the transaction. An investigation is pending.
