Village announces upcoming Christmas events

Ring in the holidays and get ready for the Village of Addison’s Christmas Events, at the Addison Village Green, 1 Friendship Plaza, east of Village Hall, and the Addison Historical Museum Campus, immediately south of Village Hall.  Information on events may be found online at ItHappensInAddison.com.

Christmas at the Century House

See the Century House decorated for the holidays in a traditional German style of the late 19th Century.  Open: Dec. 1 through Jan. 5.  Hours are Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and open Saturday, Dec. 9, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.  The Century House is located on the Addison Historical Museum Campus, 129 W. Army Trail Road. Group tours by appointment.  Call 630-628-1433.

Christmas Tree Lighting Dec. 1

Friday, December 1 at the Village Green, located at 1 Friendship Plaza, east of the Addison Village Hall and the Historical Museum Campus, 135 W. Army Trail Rd.  Events begin at 5 p.m. with a holiday craft fair and visits with Santa Claus at the Village Green.

School groups perform festive songs of the season at the east portico of Village Hall starting at 7 p.m.

Enjoy the “The Caroling Connection,” a Victorian-style caroling ensemble, and see the Century House decorated for the holidays in a traditional German style of the late 19th Century.

The lighting of the grand Christmas Tree in the Village Green follows the school group performances.

Christmas Parade through local neighborhoods

Saturdays, Dec. 2 and 9.  Steps off at 4:30 p.m. from Army Trail Rd. and Lincoln Avenue.
