The Elmhurst Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

Nov. 21
A complainant in the 600 block of S. Prospect reported the suspect pushed her following a verbal argument. The suspect denied pushing the complainant and agreed to leave the residence. No arrests were made due conflicting statements from both parties.
Nov. 16
A victim in the 700 block of N. Van Auken reported a verbal argument turned physical. There was no indication of injuries, and both parties agreed to separate for the evening.
Sept. 20
A victim in the 100 block of E. Crestview reported the suspect shoved her and grabbed her wrist. The victim related the incident occurred in September. This case is pending investigation.

Nov. 18
Kayne Hankison, 18, of Elmhurst, Hankison was cited for possession of alcohol by a minor, unlawful possession of cannabis, and possession of tobacco by a minor in the 300 block of E. Belden at 7:49 p.m.
Alexis E. Lopez, 37, of Bensenville, was charged with DUI and speeding subsequent to a traffic stop in the 900 block of N. York at 12:38 a.m.
Yessica Lozada, 23, of Elmhurst, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident in the 600 block of W. North at 4:36 a.m.
Nov. 17
Justin Perez, 26, of Darien, was charged with DUI and failure to leave information at the scene of an accident subsequent to a hit and run near North and Addison at 6:37 p.m.
Nov. 16
Lance Alexander, 61, of Chicago, was issued a citation for possession of open alcohol in public in the 100 block of W. First at 11:24 a.m.
Police said that subsequent to a vehicle that crashed into a median, the suspect was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was transported to the police station and later transported to Elmhurst Hospital for evaluation. Charges are pending.

Nov. 20
A complainant in the 300 block of E. South reported he received a concerning text message from the suspect. This case is pending investigation.
Identity theft, fraud, forgery
According to information provided by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported one incidents of identity theft or fraud.
Possession of cannabis in a vehicle
According to information provided last week by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported four incidents of possession of cannabis by either the driver of a vehicle or a passenger: John Tazelaar, 23, of Lombard, in the 1000 block of S. Route 83 at 4:45 a.m. Nov. 17; Kintrell T. Watts, 22, of Schaumburg, in the 100 block of N. Robert T. Palmer Dr. at 1:03 p.m. Nov. 17; Keanu Sanders, 19, of Chicago, in the 300 block of E. Butterfield at 3:56 a.m. Nov. 18; Kevin Aviles Valdez, 29, and Anthony Ramirez, 33, both of Elmhurst, near Addison and North at 7:04 p.m. Nov. 21.

Police said that subsequent to a report of an intoxicated subject causing a disturbance at a restaurant in the 100 block of N. York at 9:30 p.m., the subject was issued a no-trespass notice and left the premises without incident.

A victim in the 900 block of S. Route 83 told police that an unknown person(s) broke into her storage unit and stole Christmas decorations.
Nov. 16
A victim at a store in the 600 block of N. York reported at 4:12 p.m. that an unknown suspect described as a black male took several items and exited the store without paying. An investigation is pending.
