Jerome E. “Jerry” Sobieraj, formerly of Taylor, Mich, passed away recently at the age of 95; beloved husband of the late Roberta “Bobbie”; loving father of James (Jacquelyn), Jerome MD (Janet MD), Jeffrey (Carmen), Jane (Gene) Evans, and late infant John; proud grandfather and great-grandfather of 12; dear brother to 9 deceased siblings; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jerry was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. Afterward, he obtained an engineering degree from the Lawrence Institute of Technology. He began his career as an automotive engineer at Chrysler Corporation and then spent 35 years at General Motors. Jerry was active in St. Alfred parish in Taylor, Mich. He loved to travel with Bobbie, visiting more than 75 countries and all 50 states. Jerry was everybody’s friend and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
