Blind AT student to perform with Carnegie Hall choir; Seeks GoFundMe donations to fund trip to New York

Maria Bagry was born blind but that hasn’t stopped her from pursuing her passion for music. The Addison Trail High School senior was recently accepted to the Carnegie Hall Honors Treble Choir where she will work with well-known teachers and conductors for a week in New York. In order to take the trip in February, Maria needs to raise $15,000.

“This is an incredible opportunity for Maria to further develop her skills among other talented young musicians,” said Maria’s mother Tetyana Bagry, who set up the GoFundMe page for her. “In July, the choir will be performing in the London Festival. Maria works so hard and deserves to have her dream supported.”

A musician herself, Tetyana works part-time and said she can’t always afford everything Maria needs.
