From Sept. 18 to 23, Addison Trail celebrated Homecoming Week with several events and activities. This year’s theme was “Enchanted Garden,” and students and staff showed their Blazer Pride and school spirit throughout the week.
Highlights of the Week included Movie night on Tuesday, Sept. 19, when about 65 students watched “Shrek 2.” Then on Wednesday, Sept. 20 was the Homecoming Blazer Bowl and Bonfire. The seniors won the competition.
On Friday, Sept. 22, the Homecoming Pep Assembly, was held during which members of the Homecoming Royalty were crowned. They included freshmen Angel Beltran, Dasia Birmingham, Madison Rodriguez; sophomores Isak Mora, Alex Nowak, Elisa Robles; juniors: Thomas Cabrera, Lesley Diaz, Alexandra Marcinkowski; and seniors: Sol Bracamontes, Zachary Morris, Savannah Sosin.
Also on the Sept. 22, the Flag Football game against Larkin, which Addison Trail won by a score of 72-0.
The Varsity Football Game was against Proviso East, and Addison Trail won by a score of 42-12.
Band alumni attended the football game and performed on the field with the Addison Trail Marching Band to celebrate, thank and recognize Music Department Head and Band Director Mark Corey, who will retire at the end of the 2023-24 school year.
Culminating the week, on Saturday, Sept. 23, more than 900 students attended the Homecoming Dance, “Enchanted Garden.”
