According to the Village of Addison, phase 5 of the Addison Village Green Improvement Project is continuing to progress its way along as plans come together to expand the Village Green east to Addison Road.

As part of the effort, the Veterans Circle Monument is getting a new home, which will provide a more accessible location for the community to visit and honor Addison’s veterans. On Friday, June 9, it was officially relocated from the northeast corner of Lake St. and Addison Rd. (by Walgreens) to the southwest corner of the intersection. ¬

The Village Green Improvement Project is designed by Hitchcock Design of Naperville; general contractor for phase 5 is R. W. Dunteman of Addison; crane operator for moving the monument was Nichols Crane Rental of Joliet.

Construction will continue throughout the summer, with a formal dedication of the new site planned on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
