Glenbard East’s boys volleyball team opened its 2023 season with a match at Willowbrook on March 21. The Rams won the first game of the contest in Villa Park. Willowbrook won the second game to force a decisive third game. The visiting Rams took a 9-0 lead at the start of the third game. Glenbard East’s lead in that game grew to 15-1. The Rams went on to beat Willowbrook 25-15, 22-25, 25-14. One photo from the match shows Glenbard East junior Aidan Weltin (No. 11) rising above the net. Weltin provided eight kills for the Rams in their win over the Warriors. Glenbard East continued its season by winning two of four matches and posting a sixth-place finish at the 12-team Barrington/Vernon Hills Invitational, which took place March 24-25.
