JOAN M. BOEH
Joan M. Boeh, age 93, a longtime Lombardian, died on January 23, 2023 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois.
She was the loving wife of the late Thomas C. Boeh. They were married at St. Gertrude’s Church in Chicago on June 2, 1951. They were married for 47 years, until his death.
Joan was the beloved mother of Jeanne (Bernhard) Fleming of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, Catherine (Martin) McKinley of Cary, North Carolina, Mary Elizabeth Boeh of Naperville, Diane (Tom Loebach) Davies of Golden, Colorado, Thomas (the late Deborah) Boeh of Boise, Idaho, Jo Anne (Cris) Castillo of Naperville, and Joseph G. (Emily) Boeh of Elmhurst; dear grandmother of Nicole Doyle, George Davies, Kendra Fleming, Geoffrey Davies, Stephanie (Colton Davis) Davies, Gavin (Danielle) Fleming, Allison McKinley (Anthony) Minchella, Michael (Allison Petersen) Castillo, Andrea McKinley, Jackson (Eva Schuman) Boeh, Thomas Boeh, Lauren Castillo, Peter Boeh, Kevin Castillo, Kaitlyn Castillo, Patrick Boeh, Andrew Boeh, and Emma Boeh; great-grandmother to Tommy Doyle; fond sister of Diane (Bert) Hansen; adored aunt of Todd (Paula) Hansen and Macayla (Jay Logan) Hansen.
She was predeceased by her husband Thomas, her son Jerome Michael and her parents, Lawrence Dean DeWoody and Audrey Brosnan DeWoody.
Joan was born on August 14, 1929, in Chicago. She excelled in her schooling, earning the title of Valedictorian in both high school (St. Scholastica) and college (Mount St. Scholastica.) Her love of learning moved into her professional life, where she taught for Sacred Heart Catholic School of Lombard for 13 years. After retiring from Sacred Heart, she worked for the College of DuPage in the Learning Center for 10 years.
In her free time, she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Morton Arboretum. She loved to travel, with some of her favorite trips having been in Europe, Asia, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Joan had an eye and ear for the arts. She played piano for over 80 years and enjoyed painting and drawing.
A Cubs fan through and through, she was a regular at Wrigley Field and attended the 1945 World Series.
Cooking for a large family was a challenge, and she often followed recipes created by her mother, who was a fabulous chef. Joan’s famous molded cream cheese Easter egg salad made an appearance every Easter and was a true family favorite.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, February 17, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 18, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 114 S Elizabeth, followed by interment of ashes at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.

AGNES S. RESCHAK
Agnes S. Reschak, née Guzik, age 93, a longtime resident of Lombard, passed away on February 1, 2023.
Agnes was the beloved wife of the late Leo E. Reschak; loving mother of Gary (Ramona) of Palatine, IL, Debra (William) Friedrich of Downers Grove, IL, and Donna (David) Betts of Lombard, IL; adored grandmother of seven; cherished great grandmother of eight.
A mass was held on February 7, 2023, at St. Pius X Church in Lombard followed by internment at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield, IL.

John “Johnny” A. Valene, age 88, of Lombard for over 55 years, passed away peacefully on Feb. 5, 2023.
Visitation Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, from 3-8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral Services Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, with 9:30 a.m. Prayers at the funeral home to 10:15 a.m. Mass at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Villa Park. BERNADINE WEIDNER
Bernadine “Bernie” Weidner, née Walsh, age 98, of Williams Bay Wisconsin, formerly of Lombard, passed away on Jan. 31, 2023.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1025 W. Madison, Lombard. Interment to be held at a later date.
