DONNA D. MICHAELS
Donna D. Michaels, née Sweetland, age 71, a longtime Lombardian, was called home by God on January 21, 2023.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Nichole Wagner Barney of Lubbock, Texas, and Stephanie Wagner of Lombard; and her adored grandchildren Alyssa, Ashley and Aubrey; dear sister of Frederick (Laura) Sweetland, Marla (Mike) Jenkins and Kirk Sweetland.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband David Michaels and her parents, Frederick Sweetland Jr. and LaVerta Zerwekh.
Donna was born on June 23, 1951, in Sunnyland, Illinois. She spent summers in Wyoming growing up.
Donna was a longtime member of the First Church of Lombard and was a Sunday School teacher. She was strong in her faith and impacted many lives by providing guidance to others. She was gifted in spiritual writings and sharing messages with others.
Donna enjoyed making porcelain dolls, painting, and dancing. She was a skilled seamstress. Donna was an animal lover, shown through her house full of pets, and possessed a great love of nature.
Donna was a strong, compassionate, caring and memorable woman with a great sense of humor. She was always willing to tell a story.

JACK W. NELSON
Jack W. Nelson, age 94, of Lombard, died January 28, 2023.
Jack was the loving husband of 72 years of Marguerite “Dolly,” née Dilloo; dear father of Caryl (Richard) Hendron of Lombard, Karen Nelson of Lombard and John W. Nelson of Lombard; fond grandfather of Matthew (Amanda) Hendron of Arizona and Jonathan (Lisa) Hendron of Arizona; and great-grandfather of Hayley and Jakob Hendron. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Katherine Nelson.
Jack was a proud Veteran. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He was a former member of the L.O.O.M. #3 in Chicago.
Jack grew up in Chicago and had been a Lombard resident for 50 years. He was a graduate of Kelvyn Park High School. Jack worked in Sales in the Industrial Plumbing and Heating industry.
Jack had been an active volunteer at the Brookfield Zoo for 25 years. He was a long-time member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lombard. Jack was a former member of the Prairie Schooners Square Dancers in Lombard.
Jack will be Lying-in-State on Thursday, February 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 215 S Lincoln St., Lombard. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace.

JANE L. STIEMANN
Jane L. Stiemann, née Freund, age 91, longtime Lombardian, returned to God’s arms on January 27, 2023.
Jane was the dear wife of 49 years of the late Theodore “Ted” Stiemann. They met at Glenbard High School in 1949. They were married at the Maple Street Chapel in 1951.
Jane was the loving mom of Vicki (Alan) Webb of Lombard, David (Brenda) of Oswego, James (Tammy) of Carol Stream and Bonnie (Eric) Kramer of Lombard; adored grandma of Kyla (Justin) Lord, Ryan Webb, Jenni Peterson, Michael Stiemann, Dan Stiemann, Jon Stiemann, Matthew (Madilynn) Stiemann, Samantha Stiemann, Sara (Fiancé Kyle Schmucker) Kramer and Beth (Fiancé Aaron Stott) Kramer; great-grandma of Maddie, Reagan and Kris; and sister-in-law of Ruth Stiemann and Shirley Stiemann.
Jane was a long-time member of First Church of Lombard. She was very involved in church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir for over 50 years.
Jane was a Lilac Princess in 1949.
Jane loved spending time with family at her Lombard home where she had lived for over 50 years. She enjoyed hosting family holidays including Lilac Parade parties and Easter. Jane loved to cook and thought recipes were “optional.” She made a great lasagna.
Jane also enjoyed sewing and camping. She was a big supporter of her kids and grandkids and attended many, many of their events through the years.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, with Jane Lying-In-State from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. at First Church of Lombard, 220 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace. Visitation Friday, February 3, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
