MAVIS KECK BERGERON
Mavis Keck Bergeron, Thomson, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on January 24, 2023.
The youngest of twelve children, Mavis was born on August 13, 1933, at her grandmother’s home in Washburn, North Dakota, and grew up on her family’s farm just East of Washburn. She attended a one-room country schoolhouse through eighth grade and graduated from Washburn High School in 1950. Mavis worked at the bank in Underwood, North Dakota for several years after high school and married John E. Bergeron on August 21, 1954. They raised their four children in Hibbing and St. Louis Park, Minnesota and Lombard.
After raising her family, Mavis returned to banking and worked for many years at Villa Park Trust and Savings Bank, Villa Park, Illinois; first as a part-time teller and then as a Loan Administrator, until her retirement in 2000.
Mavis treasured time with family and friends and blessed so many with her kindness, generosity, and tremendous gift for hospitality.
Mavis is survived by her children, William (Cheryl) Bergeron, Oxford, New Jersey, Patricia (William) Arnott, Thomson, Georgia, Michael (Vickey) Bergeron, Aurora, Illinois, and Thomas Bergeron, Bolingbrook, Illinois; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Leopold, Danielle (Eddie) Gonzalez, Dominique (Justin) Batt, Michael (Lyndsay) Bergeron and Brock (McKenzie) Bergeron; her great grandchildren, Hunter, Morgan, Lily, Parker and Blake; step-granddaughter, Autumn Ramsey and step-great grandson, Caleb Narney; her sister, Betty (Vince) Freborg, Bemidji, Minnesota, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Keck, Escondido, California and Marian Meyer, Bismarck, North Dakota as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mavis was preceded in death by her husband John; her parents, Emanuel and Louise Keck; and siblings, Mabel, Ruth, Ruby, Melita, Albert, Alice, Marvell, Eunice, Curtiss and Eugene.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 12th at Quest Church in Grovetown, Georgia. Burial will be April 21st at Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, Illinois.

ELIZABETH A. GAMBOA
Elizabeth “Lisa” A. Gamboa, née Barkley, age 49, of Lombard died on February 8, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Lisa was the loving mother of Allyson, Isabel, and Anthony Gamboa.
She enjoyed watching movies to relax. She loved shopping, and her favorite thing to shop for was shoes. She adored animals and had a cat named Lucy.
Lisa could often be found volunteering for all of her children’s extracurricular activities and school functions. Her children were her world, and really her entire life. She always made sure to let them know how much she loved them.
She was a light for so many people and the glue that held her family together.
A Memorial Gathering was held on Wednesday, February 15, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard.

THERESA ROSE KLOS
Theresa Rose “Terri” Klos, (formerly Bailey), née Woytash, 84, of Lombard, formerly Northlake, died on February 11, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Bailey and the late Ed Klos; loving mom of Denise (Stephen) DeCrow, Mark (Sandy) Bailey, Kathleen (the late Thomas) Hamilton, John (Jennifer Young) Bailey, and Laura Bailey; and caring grandma to Alexander Bailey, Angela DeCrow, Vince DeCrow, and Brian Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilary and Pearl Woytash, née Grimm, her son Donald Bailey and her brother John Woytash.
Terri was always keeping herself busy; she swam three days a week before dawn and attended church every Sunday. She loved the outdoors, especially camping and gardening. Reading, puzzling, sewing, knitting, and crocheting were just some of the ways she liked to spend her free time. “Jeopardy” was one of her favorite shows, and she was passionate about tigers. Terri was an expert seamstress. She loved to plarn, making mats, purses, tablecloths, and bags for the homeless. Additionally, Terri spent her time volunteering at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
She loved her “Big Four” grandchildren dearly.
Terri will be incredibly missed by her friends and family.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on February 18 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home 135 S. Main St. Lombard. Interment private.

Joyce Jean Petersen, née Miller, age 91, of Lombard, died on Feb. 7, 2023, at home.

STEVEN M. SOSTAK
Steven M. Sostak, age 49. Husband of Angela Tyre-Sostak; loving father of Jessica, Maria Fatima and Lucia Belle; cherished son of Anthony Michael (Susan) Sostak and Beverly Sostak; dearest brother of Stacy (Eric) Blaskovich; brother-in-law of Jennifer (Jason) Moran; proud uncle of Alison and Anton Blaskovich and Rocky and Veronica Moran; son-in-law of Linda (Tom) McDavid; faithful companion of Daisy, Elliott and FeiFei.
A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, Feb. 15. Interment followed at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.

Delia Vasquez, née Garcia, age 95, of Lombard, passed away on Feb. 7, 2023.
A Visitation was Monday, Feb. 13, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral Mass was on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1025 E. Madison, Lombard. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

JAMES. F. WIEDMAN
James F. Wiedman passed away peacefully on February 11, 2023. He was 88 years old. Devoted husband to Rita M. Wiedman, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage and raised their two children, David (Patty) Wiedman of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Beth (Brian) Bliss of Lombard. Loving grandfather of four granddaughters, and four great granddaughters. Beloved brother of John Wiedman and the late Daniel Wiedman. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. A good neighbor and friend to many.
Jim received his Bachelor’s of Science Teaching degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and his Master of Arts in Education Degree from Concordia University Chicago. He was drafted into the Army in 1957 and served two years at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama. He was a test engineer for solid propellant rocket engines there.
He resumed his teaching career at Elmwood Park High School, where he taught physics, computer programming, general science, and math classes for over 30 years before retiring from teaching. Jim returned to the academic world as an aide in the computer lab at Peacock Middle School in Itasca for several years before retiring permanently.

SABRINA WOOD
Sabrina “Beanie” Wood, 67 of Downers Grove, formerly of Lombard passed away on February 11, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Sabrina was the beloved wife of Geoffrey for 31 years; loving mother of Carisa (Jason) Krieg, Melissa (David) Barron, Andrea (Chris) Bergeson, Abigail Benton, Garrett Wood, John Rainey, Ashley Wood, and the dear stepmother of Amy DeFalco; fond grandma of Stephen Blank, Cody Krieg, Scott Barron, Annabel Krieg, Bryce Benton, Grayson Benton, Parker Benton, Emmett Bergeson, and Allison Wood; sister of Carla (the late Paul) Aspengren and the late Terry (the late Joe) Billy; and cherished stepdaughter of Linda Eplin.
Sabrina was born to the late Bernard Eplin and Martha Lee Thomas on October 30, 1955. She and Geoffrey were married on January 17, 1992, in Wheaton, Illinois.
She looked forward to spending time with her family. She loved when her children would bring friends over as they were growing up. She was always happy to babysit her grandkids and enjoyed loving on them. Sabrina looked forward to celebrating Christmas with her family every year and enjoyed entertaining people in her home.
Her hobbies included knitting, quilting, reading, watching the Hallmark Movie Channel and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.
She was an animal lover and held a special place in her heart for dogs and cats.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard, with a Funeral Service on Friday, February 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
