The Elmhurst Area Branch of the AAUW is now collecting books for its Annual Used Book Sale to be held August 4-7 at Sandburg Middle School, 345 E. St. Charles Road.
Books, CDs and DVDs can be dropped off anytime in designated bins now through Monday, Aug. 1 at the following locations: Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect; Park District Courts Plus, 186 S. West Ave. Books and materials can also be dropped Sandburg Middle School (the preferred location) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, when sorting will be taking place.
Thousands of used books, CDs, and DVDs will be available at the Annual Used Book Sale. Well organized into more than 30 different categories, the four-day sale features a large children’s section, as well as a collector’s area. Proceeds benefit local scholarships and national AAUW research and programs for women.
The sale dates and hours are as follows:
Thursday, Aug. 4 from 6 – 9 p.m. (Preview Sale, $10 Entrance Fee)
Friday, Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 7 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. ($10 Bag Sale)
Admission is free on all days except for Opening Night Thursday, when there is an entrance fee of $10 per person. There is a special sale on Sunday when everything you can fit into a brown grocery bag is just $10.
