ECT presents ‘Disney’s Descendants: The Musical’; Performances set for May 6 – 8 at Trinity High School in River Forest

Elmhurst Children’s Theatre has announced production details for Disney’s Descendants: The Musical.  Directed by Jeremy Nemec, Disney’s Descendants: The Musical takes the stage from May 6 through 8 in Trinity High School’s newly renovated auditorium.

About the show…

Set during present day in the fictional kingdom of Auradon, all of Disney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after, safe from terrifying villains and troublesome sidekicks they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost.  That is until Ben, the benevolent teenage son of Belle and King Adam (The Beast), offers a chance of redemption for the troublemaking offspring of the evilest villains, Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos—the children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Jafar—who are welcomed to Auradon Prep to attend school with the children of their parents’ sworn enemies.  Now entering a completely foreign world and way of life, the four Villain Kids have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

Disney’s Descendants: The Musical is packed with non-stop thrills and tunes and showcases lots of dancing and singing — perfect for the whole family and every audience.

Disney’s Descendants: The Musical features youth performers, many of whom are seasoned actors through ECT and their school performances.

The director and cast weigh in

Director Jeremy Nemec shared his insights about the upcoming performance of Disney’s Descendants: The Musical.

“What is wonderful about a theatre experience is that kids learn to work together even if they have different backgrounds,” he said. “They learn how to interact and it’s a great growth experience for them as people. This is a fun show, and a well-known show.  But we are doing things that have never been done with this show.”

ECT’s performers shared their thoughts on Disney’s Descendants: The Musical.

“I’ve been involved with ECT since fifth grade and every show is more fun than the last,” said Elyssa Hall, who plays the role of Evie. “I have made so many friends along the way and it is by far the most supportive group of human beings I have ever met.  It is just so much fun.”

“I’m excited to be part of ECT because I know that all the people there are so supportive and you can just be anyone’s friend,” said Luca Hohf, who plays the role of Cruella. “Everyone is so supportive, caring, and welcoming, and it’s a group where everyone understands one another.  Even though everyone is different, we all get along.”
