William “Bill” H. Schwass, a longtime resident of Elmhurst and a Korean War Army Veteran, passed away March 24, 2022 at the age of 93.
Bill had a long career with a public utility, enjoyed farming and was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elmhurst.
Beloved husband of 61½ years to Marilyn Schwass; loving father of Lora (Steven) Ford and Debra (Donald) Madrzyk; proud grandpa of the late Michael and Alexander Ford, Elizabeth (Joe Alberth) and Joseph Madrzyk; brother of Marilyn (the late Wesley) Witt and the late Shirley Norling and son the late Christlieb and Esther Schwass.
Visitation from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 31 at Elmhurst Community Funeral Home – The Ahlgrim Chapel, 567 S. Spring Road, Elmhurst. Lying in State at church on Friday, April 1, from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. Funeral Service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 123 E. St. Charles Road, Elmhurst.
