For the first time in two years, Villa Park Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2801 held its Friday fish fry on March 4—the first Friday of the 2022 Lenten season. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the post offered its Friday fish fry throughout the year. Post Commander Jim Blankshain (pictured below left at the March 4 fish fry) said the post will hold a fish fry each Friday this Lent, through April 15. “If it runs well for the next seven weeks, we’ll continue on with it,” he said. Each of the upcoming Friday fish fry dinners will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the post, which is located at 39 E. St. Charles Road. The cost of $10 per person includes two pieces of fish, two sides, bread and dessert.
