The Elmhurst Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Criminal damage, criminal trespass
Jan. 26
A complainant in the 100 block of Elm Tree related at 11:19 p.m. that an unknown suspect threw a rock at the front of the residence, chipping the concrete windowsill.
Jan. 10-Jan. 24
A victim in the 100 block of Fairlane reports that an unknown suspect(s) broke his front window with an unknown object sometime between the above dates.
Jan. 23
Police said a victim relayed that an unknown suspect(s) threw a rock at a window in his residence in the 100 block of Elm Tree Lane, causing it to break. Officers attempted to search the area with no results.
Jan. 21
William Aubin, 51, of Elmhurst, was charged with trespass to property at 9:15 p.m. Police said a reporting officer met with the victim who reported Aubin left a note at his front door after being trespassed from the residence. The reporting officer made contact with the Aubin, whom police said admitted to leaving the note.
Police said officers responded to the 200 block of E. Park at 10:10 p.m. for the report of damage to property. The reporting officer met with the homeowner who reported a rock was thrown through the front window of the residence. Officers checked the area for a suspect but were met with no results.
Domestic battery, domestic incident, disorderly conduct, disturbance
March 1, 2019-Jan. 22
A victim in the 100 block of E. Lake reported several domestic battery incidents involving the suspect between the above dates. This case is pending investigation.
DUI, DUI-drugs, transportation of open alcohol, possession of open alcohol, consumption of alcohol by a minor
Jan. 26
Jose Barboza, 36, of Elmhurst, was charged with DUI and driving on the left of center near an intersection subsequent to a traffic stop near Third and Addison at 9:46 p.m.
Jan. 22
Robin Rogers, 33, of Libertyville, was charged with DUI, driving while license suspended, improper lane usage and no insurance subsequent to a traffic stop near North and York at 12:28 a.m. Police said Rogers also was found to have a valid warrant out of the Winnebago Sheriff’s Office.
Gerardo Valesquez, 49, of Bensenville, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage, no valid driver’s license and no insurance subsequent to a traffic stop near Lake and Grand at 1:33 a.m.
Fleeing, eluding
According to information provided last week by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported one incident of fleeing and eluding in which the driver of a vehicle or a motorcycle reportedly fled after a traffic stop was conducted.
Harassment, threats
Jan. 21-Jan. 26
A victim in the 700 block of N. York told police that the suspect has been contacting her daily regarding money that she owes him and has threatened to harm her. The reporting officer contacted the suspect regarding his statements and advised him to cease contact with the victim.
Possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance
Jan. 24
A juvenile was issued citations for failure to give aid or information after striking unattended property, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, while a second juvenile was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 400 block of W. Alma at 11:22 a.m.
Possession of cannabis by a driver of a vehicle

Between the above dates, Rafael Garcia Cisneros, 23 of Elgin, was issued a citation for unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver.
Suspicious circumstances
Jan. 26
A complainant in the 500 block of S. Bryan told police at 8:55 p.m. that she observed a suspect’s vehicle in the driveway at the above location and two unknown males wearing black coats with knit hats banging on the front door. Upon parking her vehicle, the two suspects entered their vehicle and quickly drove off eastbound on Vallette.
Jan. 23
Police said officers responded to the 100 block of N. Addison at 8:58 p.m. for a report of a suspicious circumstance. Upon arrival, officers located multiple piles of screws scattered around the fourth floor of the parking deck. An investigation is pending.
Jan. 21
A reporting officer met with a victim at 10:17 p.m. who reported the suspect inappropriately touched her. This case is pending investigation.
Theft or burglary/identity theft/fraud/forgery/deceptive practice/obstruction/robbery
Jan. 22
Fraud was reported in the 200 block of N. Ridgeland at 7 p.m. A victim told police that an unknown suspect(s) used his information to open a bank account.
Jan. 21
Theft was reported at a gas station in the 900 block of N. York at 3:05 a.m. A reporting officer met with the clerk who reported an unknown suspect took lottery tickets from the front counter. The suspect fled the area in a blue Honda Civic which was reported stolen out of Mount Prospect. This case is pending investigation. The suspect was apprehended in another jurisdiction the evening of Jan. 21. Charges are pending.
Deceptive practice was reported in the 300 block of N. Highview at 7:31 p.m. A victim reported receiving an Instagram direct message regarding investing money in Bitcoin. The victim sent funds to the unknown suspect before realizing she had been scammed.
Jan. 20
Theft was reported in the 300 block of S. Argyle at 4:06 p.m. A victim reported a UPS driver notified him of a suspect described as a black male, who stole a package from their front porch. The unknown suspect left the area in a white or gray pick-up truck.
Jan. 19
Theft was reported in the 200 block of N. Clinton at 1:42 p.m. A victim told police that an unknown suspect described as a male between the ages of 20 and 30 wearing a white hoodie with dark-colored lettering on the front, walked up to the front doorstep and stole four packages. The victim reviewed video surveillance which shows the suspect carrying the packages away from the front porch and into a small compact sized vehicle. The vehicle sped away northbound on Clinton. The victim was later
notified by the Berkeley Police Department that the empty packages were found behind a restaurant in their town. This case is pending investigation.
Dec. 1-Jan. 1
Identity theft was reported in the 200 block of Addison at 10:55 a.m. A victim told police that an unknown suspect(s) gained access to his bank account and withdrew funds between the above dates.
Nov. 22, 2021
Identity theft was reported in the 700 block of S. York at 3:51 p.m. A victim reported receiving a letter from Verizon Wireless regarding a past due amount. The victim related an unknown suspect used his personal information to open an account with Verizon.
Oct. 19, 2021
Theft of services was reported in the 800 block of N. York. A reporting officer met with the complainant who relayed the suspect failed to return a rental vehicle on the agreed upon date. The complainant has made numerous
attempts to contact the suspect with no results.
Unemployment benefits identity theft
According to information provided last week by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported one incident of identity theft with the intention of using a victim’s personal information to fraudulently apply for unemployment benefits through the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
Warrant arrest
Jan. 26
Police said that subsequent to a citizen assist, Michael Calvin Hesser, 60, of Wheaton, was found to have a warrant out of Downers Grove Police Department in the 100 block of N. York at 11:40 a.m.
Jan. 20
A reporting officer in the 100 block of E. First met with Devion Rodgers, 25, of Chicago, who police said turned himself in on a warrant out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office at 9:13 a.m.
