MARLENE H. BEHRENS
Marlene H. Behrens, 90, of Addison, passed away, Friday Jan 21, 2022 at Alexian Brothers Hospital, Elk Grove. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall of Addison. She worked as a hall monitor at Addison Trail High School for almost 10 years.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Will Behrens.
She is survived by her daughters Linda (Tom) Sessler of Arizona and Laura Sparks (Scott) of Lombard. Grandchildren—Matthew Sparks, Heather (Tom) Bulawa.

NEOMIA J. BUBERT
Neomia J. Bubert, née Sengelaub, 97 of Lombard, most recently of Wheaton, Illinois, passed away on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022.
Born April 18, 1924, in Reed City, Michigan, she was the daughter of John and Lydia (Haist) Sengelaub. She is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Marjorie (Sengelaub) Bluhm, and brother Darell J. Sengelaub, all of Reed City, and her husband of 70 years, Rollin N. Bubert of Lombard.
She is survived by her brother Erwin Sengelaub of Reed City, and her four children: Maureen (Bubert) Ernst and her husband Larry of Lolo, Montana, son John Bubert and his wife Jill of Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter Mary Beth Bubert of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and son Tom Bubert and his wife Teri of Wheaton. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jeremy Ernst and his wife Emily of Seattle, Washington, Nathan Ernst and his wife Becky of Elmhurst, Patrick Bubert and his wife Andrea of Tulsa and Andrew Bubert of Tulsa. She also is survived by her great-grandchildren Sydney and Aubrey Ernst of Seattle.
Growing up on a farm in Reed City, Neomia attended Cornell, the one-room school house before graduating from Reed City High School in 1941. She graduated from North Central College in Naperville, in 1945. She taught high school English before marrying Rollin in 1946 and starting their family in 1949. Neomia returned to the classroom of Pleasant Lane School in Lombard, in 1966 during a severe teachers’ shortage. Even after retiring from teaching fifth grade for 25 years, she tutored children for a number of years.
Neomia was an avid gardener growing beets, once pickled, that were in high demand at her church’s (First United Methodist Church of Lombard) bazaar. She thoroughly enjoyed sewing and quilting in addition to reading and traveling. She was also an active member of her church of 70 years singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, serving on the United Methodist Women’s board and working with confirmands.
Due to COVID restrictions, burial will be private at Forest Hills Cemetery in Glen Ellyn. A memorial service will be held in the spring at the First United Methodist Church of Lombard.

DENNIS C. BUCKLEY
Dennis Craig Buckley, age 79, of Lombard, died January 19, 2022, at his home.
Dennis was the beloved husband of 27 years of Barbara, nee Fitzgibbon; loving father of Craig Buckley of Bolingbrook and Michele (Steven) Dreiling of Plainfield; adored grandfather of Nicole Bonnet (Bret) of Naperville, Jamey Buckley of Lisle, Jacob Dreiling of Plainfield and Dylan Dreiling of Plainfield; great-grandson Jax; brother-in-law of Richard (Linda) Fitzgibbon of Newark, Illinois, Michael Fitzgibbon of Naperville, Jean (Mikey) Fitzgibbon of Lisle.
Dennis and Barbara were married at Sacred Heart Church. He was a retired sheet metal worker and was a member of the Local #73. He was a member of the L.O.O.M. Lodge in Lombard.
Dennis was preceded in death by a brother, the late Terrance Buckley, and a sister-in-law, the late Nancy.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, January 25, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Interment followed at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.

DONALD G. CEITHAML
Donald George Ceithaml was born August 10, 1937, the son of George and Lillian Ceithaml. In January of 1981, he met Carolyn Jean Wisman Sweeney. Together they established their beautiful family, marrying on July 11, 1981, at St. Pius X Church in Lombard. They combined Cheryl Ceithaml Floramo, George Ceithaml, David Sweeney (Emily), Jennifer Sweeney Witczak (Andy), and Jeffrey Sweeney. 10 months later they welcomed Julia Kathleen Ceithaml to complete their “his, mine, and ours family.” They have also welcomed 9 grandchildren into this large family: Emily and Nicholas Floramo; Rowan David Sweeney, Maggie and Bridget Witczak; Riley, Connor, Sean and Caitlin Sweeney. Don has one sister, Gladys Bundschuh and her extended family.
He was preceded in death by twin brothers James and John, his first wife Georgienne Trombino Ceithaml, his parents George and Lillian, his in-laws George and Mercienne Trombino and Urban and Esmeralda Wisman, his brother-in-law Richard Bundschuh, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Don was a science teacher of eighth grade students for 35+ years. He retired from teaching and cared for his father-in-law, Urban Wisman, in their Lombard home until he died in 1989. After that he substitute taught well into his seventies, serving so many of the children in the surrounding communities of Addison, Bensenville, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Lombard and Villa Park. He also played a big part in the Lombard Historical Society, even marching in the Lilac Parade in 1991, the year their daughter Jennifer was Lilac Queen.
Don graduated from Beloit College in 1959 with a BS in teaching. He was the first in his family to receive an advanced degree. Don and Jean returned to Beloit for his 25th, 50th and 60th reunions. Each time Don returned to Beloit he got to lead the homecoming parade of classes because he still fit in his letterman sweater, which he earned for gymnastics.
A longtime parishioner at St. Pius X, Jean got Don involved in many ministries there, including 5:00 usher, funeral and bereavement ministry, and general all-around handyperson at the church. After retiring, he also filled his time by helping out Father Herb’s Mom and several other seniors in Lombard and Mayslake Village with grocery shopping, snow shoveling, grass cutting and picking up the morning newspaper. “Mr. Don to the rescue!”
Don and Jean’s family was a huge part of the music ministry at St. Pius, leaving there in 2009 and eventually becoming an active part of the Christ the King parish family, where Don continued to help as a greeter and a member of the Art and Environment team.
Donations in his memory may be given to Beloit College Department of Education, Alzheimer’s Association, Christ the King Parish Lombard. He will be greatly missed by so many people, especially his wife and children!

WILLIAM COPPOCK III
William “Bill” Coppock III, age 74, of Marseilles, Illinois, formerly of Lombard, passed away on January 22, 2022.
He was the loving husband of Janet, née Moore, for 54 years; beloved father of Elizabeth (Kim) Perez of Joliet, William G. Coppock IV of Marseilles, Patrick Michael (Julie) Coppock of Texas, and Anthony (Rose) Pecoraro of Lombard; grandfather of Kayla Coppock, Lea Perez, Alanna Perez, Claudia Perez, Olivia Perez, Jack Perez, Payton Coppock and Kiera Pecoraro; and great-grandfather of Logan and Spiro. He was the dear brother of Margaret “Maggy” Wyckoff of Maine, and Timothy “Tim” (Wendy) Coppock of Lombard; and a fond uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William II and Helen Ardith Coppock of Lombard.
William served in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War, in the U.S. He moved to Lombard in 1954, where he graduated from Sacred Heart Grade School and went on to graduate from Glenbard East in 1966. Shortly thereafter, he and Janet were married at Sacred Heart Church.
William spent 30 years working as the superintendent of George Sollitt Construction. He had been a member of Carpenter Union #1189 Local and Laborers Union.
William and Janet spent the past 11 years living in Marseilles. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and was an avid Chicago Bears Fan.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 31, with 9:30 a.m. Prayers at the funeral home, thence to 10 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard, followed by Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. Visitation Sunday, January 30, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard.

LUELLA G. LEAGUE
Luella Gladys League, age 91, of Lombard, passed away on Jan. 21, 2022.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 28, from 3-9 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 30, starting around 4 p.m. at New Hope Community Church, 230 W. Plymouth St., Villa Park.

JOELENE A. LOEW
Joelene A. Loew, (nee Chryst), age 88, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, was called to her eternal heavenly home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, with her family by her side.
Joelene was born November 5, 1933, in Menomonie, to Neil and Hazel Chryst (Adams). She always said she went from cradle to college growing up in Menomonie, attending grade school, high school and graduating with an education degree in home economics from UW-Stout.
Joelene married her college sweetheart, Allan R. Loew, on June 16, 1956, at the Congregational Church in Menomonie. They traveled to North Carolina where Allan served in the Marine Corp and she had the first of their two children, Sue Ellen (Halama) in May 1957. They relocated to Illinois to follow their teaching careers, both teaching at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, until their retirement. Joelene had their second daughter, Tamara (Clarke) in September 1959 and they remained in Villa Park for 52 years.
In 2009 they moved to Sarona, Wisconsin, exploring the area and enjoying each day of their retirement. Joelene loved to travel and over the last 25+ years they traveled to many places together, including snow-birding each winter to their home in Florida.
Joelene is survived by her husband, Allan, of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, two daughters, Sue (David) Halama of Menomonie, Wisconsin, and Tammy (Ray) Clarke of Villa Park. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, the “lights of her life”, Michael (Allison) Clarke, Christina (Tom) Spring, Katelyn Halama, and Andrew (Chelsey) Halama, as well as one great-grandchild, 2 ½ year old Vincent Clarke. She is also survived by her sister Jackie (John) Dotseth of Menomonie, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Hazel Chryst, her in-laws, Austin and Irene Loew, and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Dwayne (Marjorie) Chryst, Dallas (April) Chryst, and Clinton (Connie) Loew.
Funeral services will be private with a memorial and celebration of life service to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that random acts of kindness be shown in Joelene’s memory, remembering always the kindness and compassion she showed to all who knew and loved her.

ROY JOSEPH RUTH
Roy Joseph Ruth passed away on Jan. 15, 2022, at the age of 96. Roy was born on July 9, 1925 in Lombard. He served his country in the Marine Corps 5th Division in World War II and fought in the battle of Iwo Jima. He married Mary Eileen Cummings (his beloved “Irish”) in 1948 and they spent 69 years together until her death in 2017. He built their home in Villa Park in 1953 and lived there happily until 2021.
Roy loved his wife and family dearly. He enjoyed storytelling, eating sweets, and doing woodworking projects for his kids and grandkids. He took up golfing in his retirement after a long career at Fisher Body. Roy was a lifetime member of the Villa Park VFW Post 2801.
He is survived by his children Cathy (Steve) Jevne, Mike Ruth, Connie Collins and Deb (Bob) Svoboda, his four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many in-laws.
Roy will be interred at Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn. The family will host a memorial in the spring. Arrangements were handled by Steuerle Chapel. Info: 630-832-4161.
