The City of Elmhurst has hired a new Finance Director who will assume her position on Monday, Feb. 14. Christina Coyle comes to the City of Elmhurst after serving as the Village of Glen Ellyn’s Finance Director since October of 2014.
Coyle is a certified public accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and French from the University of Illinois. She was promoted to the Finance Director position at the Village of Glen Ellyn from the Assistant Finance Director where she became a key member to the executive team. Prior to her public sector experience, Coyle managed governmental, non-profit, and federal compliance audits for various organizations. She is Chairperson to the Technical Accounting and Review Committee (TARC) for the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association (IGFOA) and a member of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
“My experience, both in the public and private sector, has been dedicated to public service,” Coyle said. “I am thrilled to begin working for the City of Elmhurst, where I can continue my career in offering services to an excellent community.”
As Finance Director, Coyle will direct, manage, and coordinate the City of Elmhurst’s fiscal services including the budget process, accounting, system administration, annual audit, risk management, insurance procurement, general administrative services, and tax increment financing administrative support.
“Christina is a proven leader whose experience and attributes will make her an asset to the City of Elmhurst,” said City Manager Jim Grabowski. “I welcome her to our management team and am confident that she will thrive in this position.”
