Last week in its Nov. 25 edition, the Elmhurst Independent published photos of an unknown incident that drew the presence of law enforcement from several other municipalities to the area near Butterfield Rd. and Prospect Ave. on Saturday, Nov. 20. At press time for the Nov. 25 issue, the Independent had been unable to obtain details about the incident, which took place in the 1100 block of Eldridge.

Since that time, the Elmhurst Police Department has released a report on the suspected criminal activity that took place on Saturday, Nov. 20.

A 25-year-old Chicago man was charged with aggravated domestic battery, two counts of domestic battery, unlawful restraint, interfering with a 911 call, criminal trespass to a vehicle and kidnapping, subsequent to a report of an unlawful restraint in the 1100 block of Eldridge at 7:15 a.m. The area was placed on lockdown as of about 12 noon.

Names are omitted to protect the victim.
