The Elmhurst Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Assault, battery
Sept. 29
Sean G. Frank, 19, of Palatine, was charged with two counts of battery and obstructing identification, while Bobby J. Lucci, 24, of Mount Ephraim, N.J., was charged with obstructing identification in the 600 block of W. North at 11:50 p.m. Officers responded to the above location for the report of a subject who was allegedly pepper-sprayed. Prior to police arrival, the two suspects allegedly fled the scene in a white SUV. A traffic stop was conducted. During the investigation, police said officers learned Frank struck the victim in the face and was subsequently pepper-sprayed. Frank and Lucci provided officers with false names, according to police.
Sept. 24
Kia D. Eskew, 30, of Arlington Heights, was charged with aggravated battery to a person over 60, aggravated battery on a public way and improper passing of cars going in the opposite direction subsequent to a vehicle crash near St. Charles and Berkley at 1:50 p.m. Police said Eskew was found to have battered the victim.

Sept. 25
Kirk Nelson Jr., 33, of Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle near North and Glade at 10:12 p.m.
Sept. 24
Police said a reporting officer met with the complainant in the 100 block of N. Addison who reported a portion of the railing at the northwest corner of the parking garage was forcibly removed, causing damage to the concrete wall.
Police said a reporting officer met with the victim in the 600 block of S. Hawthorne at 9:36 p.m. who reported an unknown group of juveniles damaged a glass panel on the exterior door of her residence.
Domestic battery, domestic incident, disorderly conduct, disturbance
Sept. 29
According to police, a victim in the 100 block of N. Addison reported that subsequent to a verbal argument, the suspect grabbed her and pulled her out of her vehicle, knocked her to the ground, and struck her. An officer observed injuries on the victim’s body. An arrest warrant for domestic battery was obtained.
Sept. 27
A complainant in the 300 block of Yorkfield told police at 10 p.m. that during a verbal argument, the suspect threw an unknown object at her. The suspect related during an argument, he threw an ice cube at the door and it did not strike the complainant. Due to no signs of injury and conflicting statements, no arrests were made.
Sept. 26
Abel Martinez Rivas, 39, of Bensenville, was issued citations for disorderly conduct and damage to property in the 600 block of N. Adele at 8:57 p.m. Police said officers responded to the above location for the report of a fight in progress. The complainant reported two subjects were fighting on his property. The reporting officer made contact with the victim who reported Martinez Rivas allegedly incited a physical altercation after attempting to remove the passenger from the victim’s vehicle. Police said the suspect stated he was attempting to prevent his son from leaving with the victim.
Lisabeth Ramirez, 37, of Elmhurst, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and issued a no-trespass notice at a restaurant in the 800 block of N. York at 6:15 p.m. Police said a reporting officer met with the complainant who reported Ramirez was upset and threw a container of gravy at the drive-thru counter.
Sept. 25
A 23-year-old Aurora man was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 500 block of W. Grand at 2:40 a.m. Police said a victim reported that the suspect slapped and pushed her.
Police said a reporting officer responded to the 100 block of E. Butterfield at 3:30 p.m. for a disturbance call. The suspect yelled and cursed at the complainant and her children. The suspect left the scene prior to police arrival.
Police said officers met with a victim in the 600 block of W. Belden at 10:48 p.m. who reported several subjects in vehicles threw eggs at her house. Villa Park officers later located the vehicle and the juvenile suspects who admitted to being involved. All suspects were cited for befouling property and released to their parents.
Sept. 24
Police said a reporting officer responded to an ambulance assist. The reporting officer spoke with a juvenile who stated she hit her sister in the
face causing her nose to bleed. The juvenile was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for a psychological evaluation per the mother’s request.

Sept. 27
Edith Costilla Galindo, 39, of Elk Grove Village, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and no insurance in the 600 block of W. North at 8:43 p.m. Police said a complainant related that Costilla Galindo struck a guardrail, was swerving, and nearly struck the complainant’s vehicle.

Britany N. Lee, 31, of Wood Dale, was charged with DUI, endangering the health or life of a child, possession of a switchblade knife, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, improper lane usage, a child restraint violation and no insurance near Palmer Drive and E. Marion at 9:40 a.m.
Sept. 25
Andrew Erisman, 19, of Elmhurst, was issued a citation for hosting an underage party where alcohol was consumed by minors in the 200 block of N. Oak at 10:47 p.m. Erisman, Lauren Polich, 19, of Burr Ridge; Shane Olson, 18, of Waterford, Wis.; and Audrey Renaud, 20, of Redford, Mich., all were issued citations for consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Sept. 24
Police said a reporting officer spoke with a school staff member at York High School who reported two instances of a juvenile suspect appearing to be under the influence of alcohol. In one case, a reporting officer met with the suspect and detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. The juvenile was released to a parent. A juvenile disposition is pending. In the second case, a reporting officer met with the suspect who admitted to consuming alcohol while under the age of 21. The juvenile was released to a parent. A juvenile disposition is pending.
Fleeing, eluding
According to information provided last week by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported one incident of fleeing and eluding in which drivers of a vehicle or a motorcycle reportedly fled after a traffic stop was conducted.
Harassment, threats
Sept. 23
Police said a reporting officer met with Elmhurst University Security at 4:09 p.m. who requested extra patrols after an employee was asked to leave following a verbal disagreement with a
supervisor.
Suspicious circumstances
Sept. 29
A complainant in the 200 block of W. Fremont related at 8:44 p.m. that while watching his security camera footage, he observed a vehicle (possibly a small, older model BMW) flashing its lights as it was parked in his driveway. A suspect described as an Hispanic male between 18 and 28 exited the vehicle, approached the complainant’s front door and was waving his fists in a threatening manner.
Sept. 20-Sept. 26
Police said a complainant in the 600 block of Hillside related he observed the basement’s window well grate was open sometime between the above dates and neither his family members nor his landscapers touched the grate. Cobwebs were undisturbed on the well and no entry was made.
Theft or burglary/identity theft/fraud/forgery/deceptive practice/obstruction/robbery
Sept. 29
Theft of vehicle parts was reported in the 400 block of E. Park at 1:48 a.m. A complainant related he heard a noise outside and observed two suspects near the victim’s vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle, a dark-colored sedan, was seen leaving the area southbound on Park Avenue. Upon officers’ arrival, it was determined the catalytic converter was removed from the vehicle.
Theft was reported at a workout facility in the 600 block of N. York at 9:14 p.m. A victim told police that while he was working out, an unknown suspect(s) cut the lock on his locker and stole cash from his wallet.
Retail theft was reported at a pharmacy in the 100 block of W. North at 7:01 p.m. A complainant related while he was assisting another customer, he heard the front door’s security alarm. Upon reviewing video surveillance, two suspects were seen concealing two bottles of Dove body wash and exiting the store without paying for the merchandise. At this time, it is unknown how much merchandise was stolen. The suspects were described as black females between the ages of 25 and 45.

Identity theft was reported in the 200 block of Cayuga at 4:03 p.m. A victim told police that an unknown suspect(s) fraudulently used her personal information and her credit card information to purchase merchandise. The victim canceled her credit card and alerted the credit bureaus of the incident.
Sept. 23-Sept. 24
Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of W. Lake. A victim told police that an unknown suspect(s) shattered the rear passenger side window of his locked vehicle and stole several tools sometime between the above dates.
Sept. 18-Sept. 23
Theft was reported at a business in the 100 block of N. Addison. A complainant told police that an unknown suspect(s) removed several signs from the windows outside of the business on two separate occasions sometime between the above dates.
Sept. 15
Identity theft was reported in the 400 block of N. West at 11:29 a.m. A victim told police that an unknown suspect(s) used her personal information to open a credit card account. The victim was contacted by Discover Bank which was able to cancel the application. The victim believes her information was compromised from a T-Mobile security breach.
Warrant arrest
Sept. 27
Police said an officer responded to the lobby of the police station at 8:33 p.m. for a subject, Omar Ramirez, 20, of Chicago, who was turning himself in on a warrant from the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office. Ramirez was taken into custody and processed on the warrant.
Sept. 23
Police said officers responded to an area near Lake and West at 5:26 p.m. for the report of a vehicle vs. concrete barrier. Lee C. Coleman 34, and Bethany Dixon, 34, both of Elk Grove Village, were observed leaving the scene on foot, according to police. They were located and placed under arrest. Coleman was charged with driving while license suspended and failure to give information after striking property and was found to be wanted on several warrants. Police said Dixon was also found to have several outstanding warrants and was in possession of a controlled substance. She was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
