James Arnott (“Jim”) McKee, an resident of Elmhurst since 1959, passed away on October 21, 2021 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Elaine (nee Josephson) McKee for more than 57 years; loving father of James Arthur (Suzie) McKee and Julie (Joseph) Pacetti; proud grandfather of Graham and Rory McKee; dear brother of the late William and Robert McKee and Mary Buckley; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; cherished friend of all who knew him.
Born in Euclid, Ohio, Jim was the son of Alice (nee Arnott) and William John McKee. He was a veteran of the US Navy and graduate of Purdue University (BS Mechanical Engineering, 1952) and Northwestern University (MBA, 1970). In his career, he rose to upper management positions with several companies before joining Fabrico Manufacturing Co. as Vice President of Operations in 1974, where he remained until retirement in 1997. He was well-respected and always took time to connect with and get to know all of the firm’s employees. He was fit, active and a skilled craftsman, enjoying household projects, reading, tennis, and later much, golf. Jim had a good sense of humor and treasured his family and close friends.
Visitation Friday, Oct. 29, from 4-7:30 p.m. at Elmhurst Community Funeral Home – The Ahlgrim Chapel, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst.
