Thomas F. Thrall, a longtime resident of Elmhurst, passed away peacefully September 21, 2021, surrounded by family. He was 70 years old.
Beloved husband of 42 years to Judith (née Walhay); loving father of Christy Wirig (Matt), Adam, and Ben (Helen Donnelly) Thrall; cherished grandfather of Luke and Pete; fond brother of Peggy, Tim (Sue), and Todd (Carol) Thrall. Adored by his nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Mary June (Voght) Thrall.
Tom received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and his MBA from the University of Chicago. He spent his career working in the financial markets at various organizations including the Chicago Board of Trade, Chicago Board Options Exchange, and the Federal Reserve. Tom’s greatest joy in life came from spending time with family and close friends. Tom’s other passions included golfing, gardening, dogs, volunteering and vacationing on Lake Michigan.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Elmhurst Community Funeral Home – The Ahlgrim Chapel, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst.
