Susanna Mae Warmann, née Waring, passed peacefully on July 23, 2021, at the age of 87. Loving wife of her late husband Robert; beloved mother of Diana (Craig), Cheryl (Jay), Kris (Tracy) and the late Bruce; cherished grandmother of Grace and Bruce; sister of the late John Waring. Sue grew up in Hyde Park. She moved to Chicago’s west side in 1952 where she met her husband. Robert and Susanna married in 1954. After briefly living in Ft. Worth, Tex., they returned to Chicago in 1958. In 1964, they settled in Elmhurst where she lived the rest of her life. Susanna volunteered at the Emerson Elementary school library in the late 1970s and as a Sunday school teacher at Elmhurst Presbyterian Church for 20 years. In 1979, Sue accepted a secretarial position at Industry Railway Suppliers. She worked there until her retirement in 1998.
Sewing was Sue’s joy. Over the course of her lifetime, she made hundreds of pieces of clothing, quilts and fun items. She enjoyed making them and recipients were delighted at how she personalized each piece to show her love. Susanna will be deeply missed by family and friends. Memorial services will be held at Park Place of Elmhurst, 1050 S. Euclid Ave. on Saturday, Aug. 14 at 10 a.m.
