The Elmhurst Police Department is now accepting applications for the Fall Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA). This 12-week program runs on consecutive Wednesday evenings starting Sept. 1, and will include presentations on arrest, search and seizure laws, investigations and crime analysis, evidence and crime scene processing, crisis negotiation, and traffic stops. Many of the classes include hands-on exercises and scenarios where you can try your hand at evidence collection, range scenarios, and crisis negotiation. You will also have an opportunity to meet Police K-9 “Ozy” and see him in action on a search and sniff test.
