The Villa Park Parks and Recreation Department held its Big Rigs and Kids event on Saturday, Aug. 14, at the new municipal parking lot located just north of Cortesi Veterans Memorial Park. Children were able to get an up-close look at several large vehicles, including vehicles in the fleets of the village’s police, fire and public works departments. Last year’s Big Rigs and Kids event was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. One photo from this year’s event shows (left to right) siblings Josie and Tessa Mrofcza of Villa Park. Josie is 3 years old; Tessa is 4 years old.
