Police find firearms in vehicle of alleged battery suspect

On July 4, a 36-year-old Chicago man was charged with two counts of domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence and violation of a concealed carry license near North and Route 83 at 1:55 a.m. The victim told police that the suspect became physical, causing her injuries. The suspect also was found to have three loaded firearms in his vehicle.

Multi-car accident leads to drug arrest

On July 1, Michael J. Educate, 33, of Chicago, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of drugs, driving while license suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, unlawful possession of cannabis by driver and no insurance subsequent to a multi-vehicle crash near Route 83 and York at 3:29 p.m.

Police release fireworks suspect to parent

On July 4, while on patrol in the 300 block of Commonwealth at 10:41 p.m., an officer observed a large firework ignite over Eldridge Park. The officer conducted a foot patrol and observed a suspect light a firework and fire it in the direction of another teen. The suspect was cited for possession of fireworks and was released on scene to his parent. The officer observed an abandoned gold Iron Horse Maverick 5 bicycle at the park.

Car found with apparent bullet hole; police find bullet inside

A complainant in the 700 block of Howard told police that she found damage to her vehicle, which appeared to be a bullet hole. The complainant said the damage apparently happened between June 20 and June 27, but she was unsure when or where exactly the damage occurred. An officer retrieved a bullet from the vehicle and placed it into evidence.
