The Elmhurst Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Criminal damage
July 2-July 3
A complainant in the 100 block of W. Madison told police he observed two plastic doors to a shed had been broken sometime between the above dates. Pending investigation.
Domestic battery, domestic incident, disorderly conduct, disturbance
July 3
Police said officers responded to the 300 block of N. York at 9:59 p.m. for the report of a suspect who called 911 and stated she was thrown out of a car. The victim related subsequent to an argument, the suspect became physical with her, kicking her out of his car and taking her cell phone. The suspect related after an argument, the victim exited his vehicle and left her cell phone in his car. Due to conflicting accounts of the incident and no signs of injury, no arrests were made.
July 2
Police said officers responded to the 900 block of N. York at 11:49 p.m. for the report of a disturbance. The complainant told police she and the suspect had a disagreement over the price of an item and the suspect threw her food and drink at the drive-thru window. The suspect was served with a no-trespass notice.
DUI, DUI-drugs, illegal transportation of alcohol, illegal possession of alcohol
July 4
Lydell D. Johnson, 35, of Maywood, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, aggravated DUI, DUI, driving while license revoked and improper lane usage subsequent to a traffic stop near Myrtle and North at 1:14 a.m.
Angelo J. Munoz, 29, of Addison, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage subsequent to a traffic stop near Lake and Route 83 at 11:28 p.m.
Antonio Vazquez, 27, of Hanover Park, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage subsequent to a report of a vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks near St. Charles and the Canadian National Railroad at 3:52 a.m.
July 3
Adrian A. Coffey, 43, of Lake in the Hills, was charged with DUI and illegal transportation of open alcohol near Highview and North at 2:34 a.m.
Erin L. Park, 44, of Elmhurst, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage near Elm Park and Prospect at 9:10 p.m.
Anthony T. Redmond, 31, of Westmont, was charged with DUI, endangering the life of a child, speeding, failure to signal and a child safety restraint violation, subsequent to a traffic stop near Route 83 and Riverside at 8:26 p.m.
Fleeing, eluding
According to information provided last week by the Elmhurst Police Department, police reported three incidents of fleeing and eluding in which drivers of a vehicle or a motorcycle reportedly fled after a traffic stop was conducted.
Possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance
July 8
Ashley Velez, 19, of Oak Park, was issued citations for tinted windows and possession of cannabis in a vehicle subsequent to a traffic stop near Second and Larch at 2:01 a.m.
July 7
Attempted retail theft was reported in the 600 block of N. York at 3:45 p.m. A complainant told police that an unknown suspect attempted to exit the store with unpaid merchandise. The suspect dropped the items after he was confronted by the complainant. The suspect left in an unknown direction. He is described as a white male approximately 50 years old.
July 6
Luis Alexis Castillo, 19, of Bensenville, was issued citations for speeding, tinted windows and unlawful possession of cannabis under the age of 21, subsequent to a traffic stop near Route 83 and I-290 at 2:46 p.m.
Israel Cisneros, 31, of Chicago, was charged with driving while license revoked, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver and no insurance, subsequent to a traffic stop near North and I-290 at 3:57 p.m.
Erica Lopez, 28, of Stone Park, was issued citations for unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver and tinted windows, subsequent to a traffic stop near Clinton and North at 12:58 a.m.
Pierre Martin, 25, of Justice, was issued citations for driving while license suspended, no valid registration and unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, subsequent to a traffic stop near Butterfield and Route 83 at 3:26 p.m.
July 3
Michael L. Causey, 42, of Elk Grove Village, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespass to a vehicle, resisting a police officer, driving while license suspended and no insurance, subsequent to a disabled vehicle investigation in the 700 block of N. York at 8:50 a.m.
Alvaro A. Franco Garcia, 20, of Melrose Park, was issued a citation for possession of cannabis by the driver, while Christian Enciso, 21, of Addison, was issued a citation for possession of cannabis by a passenger subsequent to a traffic stop near York and Diversey at 8:49 p.m.
July 2
Pebbles A. McCarthy Willia, 26, of Carol Stream, was issued citations for possession of cannabis by the driver and tinted windows subsequent to traffic stop near Butterfield and Euclid at 8:35 p.m.
July 1
Isaul Gallegos, 29, of Wood Dale, was issued citations for unlawful possession of medical cannabis by driver, improperly-tinted windows and no insurance subsequent to a traffic stop near Arlington and St. Charles at 2:16 p.m.
Suspicious circumstances
July 5
A victim in the 100 block of Columbia told police at 6:55 p.m. that an unknown suspect(s) hacked her school email account and requested ransom payment. The victim was advised to reach out to the school for additional assistance regarding her email account.
Theft or burglary/identity theft/fraud/forgery/deceptive practice/obstruction/robbery
July 5
William C. Fallon, 18, of Elmhurst, was issued citations for retail theft, consumption of alcohol by a minor, disorderly conduct-resisting/obstructing a police officer and was released on bond to his parent at a pharmacy in the 100 block of W. North at 12:32 a.m. Police said an officer observed a suspicious subject exit the pharmacy. According to police, Fallon rode his bicycle from the scene, failed to stop for the officer, and threw a bottle of beer into a yard as he fled. The officer located Fallon who, police said, admitted to consuming alcohol and admitted the bottle of beer he threw was stolen from the pharmacy.
Theft was reported in the 300 block of E. Van Buren at 7:41 p.m. Police said a reporting officer met with a complainant who reported her phone was missing and believed she left it in Butterfield Park. The victim attempted to locate her phone using a locating program but stated the phone had already been powered off and erased.
July 4
Identity theft was reported in the 200 block of Monterey at 2:39 p.m. A victim told police that she received a message from an unknown suspect(s) posing as an employee of the Illinois Secretary of State. The suspect requested she update her information. The victim accessed a fraudulent website and provided her personal information.
July 2
Fraud was reported in the 100 block of S. York at 3:30 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect(s) called establishments in Elmhurst, asking for donations on behalf of the Elmhurst Police Department and the Elmhurst Fire Department. The reporting officer advised the establishments not to make any donations because the solicitations were fraudulent.
June 28
Residential burglary was reported in the 600 block of S. Bryan at 11:51 a.m. A victim reported that two unknown suspects entered the residence and removed various items. An investigation is pending.
Unlawful use of a weapon
July 1
Trystan Hayes, 22, of Elmhurst, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in the 200 block of Butterfield at 11:29 p.m. Police said that subsequent to a 911 call of a suspicious person sitting in front of the door of a business, Hayes was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm without a valid concealed carry permit.
Warrant arrest
July 7
Police said that subsequent to a traffic stop near North and Walnut at 3:51 p.m., Kevin Ladewig, 48, of Lombard, became uncooperative and failed to provide any form of identification. According to police, Ladewig resisted officers’ attempts to place him under arrest. Upon further investigation it was learned that Ladewig had several warrants out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, according to police. Ladewig was charged with no valid driver’s license, obstructing identification, two counts of resisting a police officer, no seatbelt, failure to properly restrain a child in vehicle, failure to signal when required and was transported to the DuPage County Jail on the warrants.
