ARTHUR T. KALISH
Arthur T. Kalish, of Belmont Senior Living in Carol Stream, and formerly of Villa Park and Cicero, passed away at the age of 97. Purple Heart Veteran of World War II, 1941 to 1945, Company C 48th Engineers. Former co-owner of a service station business in Cicero.
Beloved husband of the late Dolores Vicelli Kalish; loving father of Susan (Leonard) Cecala and the late Arthur L. Kalish; devoted grandfather of Amy (Gabriel) Hocking; cherished great-grandfather of Emma Hocking and Ethan Hocking; dear brother of the late Mitzi (the late Louis) Fideler and the late Eleanor (the late Peirce) Clasen; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; and dear friend of Lynn Giever.
Arthur was born and grew up in Cicero. He moved to Villa Park with his family in 1957. He and his late wife Dolores enjoyed fishing, both from their boat on the Fox River, and ice fishing in the winter. For many years he attended reunions of his World War II Army group. He enjoyed reading nonfiction, especially United States war history. He cheered for the Cubs and the Bears.

James W. Kucera, age 76, of Bensenville, died April 14, 2021 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

Kathleen M. Maenza, nee Tiefenthal, age 85, of Willowbrook, died April 12, 2021, at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital.

MARY ZABRAN
Mary Zabran, of Villa Park, passed away recently at the age of 99. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth J. Zabran; loving mother of Bruce (Donna) Zabran, Eleanor “Ellie” (Mike) Sarallo, Joseph (Susan) Zabran; dear grandmother of Julie, Brian, Kelly Zabran, Whitney Sarallo, Dana (Tom) Fallucca, Ben (Kim) Gries, Allison (Derik) Leary, and Josie Zabran; great-grandmother of Wyatt, Barrett, Luca, and Briella; fond sister of the late Jennie Jakse, Frank and Stanley Kolibca. Dear Aunt of many.
Mary was a crossing guard for 25 years at St. Charles and Ardmore Avenue in Villa Park. She also volunteered her time as a Cub Scout Den Mother, provided cookies and candies to her family and neighborhood children and was an avid bingo player.
Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, April 24 from 1-4 p.m. until the time of memorial service at Steuerle Chapel, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
