Willowbrook’s girls basketball team wrapped up its season by winning the championship in the West Suburban Conference Tournament. The Warriors won two tournament games at Morton High School’s west campus on Saturday, March 13. They defeated York 56-50 in a semifinal game. Willowbrook then beat Lyons Township 52-46 in the championship contest. The Warriors are pictured after their victory over the Lions. Willowbrook avenged both of its regular-season losses on March 13; the team’s only two losses came against York and Lyons Township. The Warriors won their last nine games to finish the shortened season with a record of 13-2. The West Suburban Conference’s 14 teams played exclusively against each other during the abbreviated season. Restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the start of the season for more than two months. The Warriors defeated Downers Grove South 59-33 on Friday to post a perfect 6-0 record against their rivals in the conference’s Gold Division.
