ROSE S. CILELLA
Rose S. Cilella, nee Jarzemski, age 87, of Lombard, passed away February 1, 2021, at Elmhurst Hospital.
Funeral Services were held Friday, February 5, from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard, thence proceeding to Mass at St. John the Apostle Church, 330 N. Westmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside.
In lieu of flowers, masses preferred.
Rose was the loving wife of the late Conrad F. Cilella. She is survived by her beloved children, Rose T. Hotz of Normal, Rocco C. (the late Kristine Challenger) Cilella of Wheaton, David (Lynn Jaloszynski) Cilella of Villa Park, Christopher (Lisa Engler) Cilella of Florida, Mario (Sharyn Boland) Cilella of Wheaton, Lydia (Joseph) Santoro of Yorkville and Therese (B.J. Schultz) Cilella of Lombard; 16 adored grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; cousin Erich (Darlene) Herde of Roselle; and dozens of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, the late Conrad F; her parents, the late Jacob and the late Stella (Nee Misiak) Jarzemski; three siblings, the late Anne (the late John) Jenrich, the late Leonard “Nick” (the late Phyllis Williams) Jarzemski, and the late Joan Pelz; a special aunt and uncle, the late Erich and the late Sabina Herde; and a cherished daughter-in-law, Kristine Cilella.
Rose came into the world on February 20, 1933. She was born and raised in Chicago and took pride in her Polish roots. She attended St. John Cantius School and St. Stanislaus Kosta High School. Rose had strong ties to Loyola University. In her younger years she taught second grade at a Catholic school in Chicago. She even took trips with the nuns to see other parts of the country. Rose had many fond memories of Chicago and Milwaukee Avenues and window shopping for the latest fashions. She met her husband, Conrad, on a blind date. They became engaged after midnight mass on Christmas 1957 and were married the following May. Her husband always said he loved how determined she was to make her life better and to succeed. She was a go-getter! He always called her “My Rose.” Rose and Conrad moved to Lombard in 1961 where they raised their family and she lived in the same home for the last 60 years. Rose and Conrad were married on this earth for 43 years, but to her it was nearly 63.
Rose was a devoted mom to her seven children and very involved homemaker where she reigned over the kitchen. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed the news of every great-grandchild that was born into the family. While her children were growing up, Rose would be Room Mother, the school’s Picture Lady and any other volunteer “Mom Position” you could imagine. She also enjoyed taking her kids to the park across from their home and sending them to get popcorn, candy and snacks from the warming house at the Lombard Lagoon during the winter. She enjoyed singing, art and her strong Catholic faith. In her late 50s she went back to work assisting with insurance claim processing at TPA in Naperville.
Rose was active in her local Parish, St. John the Apostle Church. She was a member of the C.C.W. and taught religious education. She created countless bulletin boards for the church entryway to celebrate the different seasons. In the mid-1970s she was also C.C.W. Woman of the Year. She had many lovely friends at the parish who she cherished.
In her older years, Rose enjoyed her weekly visits to the beauty shop where she could catch-up with “the girls,” correspondence with her former Lombard neighbor, Barbara Cherry, visits with her next door neighbors Kathy and Clyde Harms, and keeping tabs on her family electronically through her new Grandpad device. She even considered her main doctors, Dr. Ninel Kandel and Dr. R. Andrew Rauh, as her friends.
Rose was a positive and smiling person who saw the best in everybody. To her children she was the “Best Mom”. Those who were lucky enough to know her will remember her love and continue to pass it on. May God bless her and welcome her into heaven.

June M. Kolar, nee Malek, age 92, died February 6, 2021 at her home.
June was the beloved wife of the late Charles F.; loving mother of Keith (Donna) of Wheaton, Wayne F. (Sally) of Evans, Georgia and Bonnie K. (William) Reed of Cincinnati, Ohio; adored grandmother of Kimberly (Andy) Dillon of Wheaton, Matthew Kolar of Georgia, Britney (Randee) Kolar of West Virginia, Katie Reed of South Korea, Megan (Josh) Andrews of Ohio and Eric Reed of Ohio; great-grandmother of three, Shane, Sophia and Parker; Aunt of JoAnn (Don) Millard of Pennsylvania; and relative of many.
June was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles F. and granddaughter, Kristin Kolar.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, February 14, from 1-6 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., and Lombard. Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 15, at 11 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park, Illinois.
June grew up in Berwyn, Illinois and had been a resident of Lombard since 1968. She retired from AT&T in the late 1990s. She was a member of the Lombard Service League and Telephone Pioneers.
June was active with her friends and neighbors. She enjoyed family, travel, gardening, dogs, polkas and Czech food.
