Victim alleges three masked men attacked him from behind

Assault was reported on July 3, when a victim in the 100 block of W. Church told police at around 4:38 p.m. that while walking with a friend, three unknown masked men attacked him from behind. The victim has no information on the suspects and did not wish to sign complaints.

Man found slumped at wheel charged with DUI-drugs

On July 7, police said that subsequent to a call for a vehicle off the roadway with the driver slumped at the wheel, the driver was allegedly found to be DUI-drugs. During the investigation, a struggle ensued. The driver allegedly bit the reporting officer’s left forearm. The suspect was transported to the police department. State charges of aggravated battery, DUI-drugs, possession of adult use cannabis in a vehicle, and improper lane usage are pending.

Police find ‘numerous’ juveniles inside closed school

On July 8, police said officers responded for the report of juveniles crawling through an open window and into Bryan School at around 9:32 p.m. Upon arrival, numerous juveniles were located on the school property and related that they entered the building through an open window. The juveniles were released on the scene to their parents pending follow up with the school resource officer and Bryan School’s administration.

Victim claims burglar made off with two handguns, two boxes of ammo

On July 7, burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 800 block of Cadwell at around 8:41 a.m. A victim told police that he found his vehicle’s door ajar and two handguns, two boxes of ammunition, and other items were missing from the vehicle. One firearm was entered into LEADS as stolen.

Customer gets no-trespass order after throwing ice cream in restaurant

On July 3, a complainant in the 900 block of N. York told police at around 8:05 p.m. that a suspect became upset and threw an ice cream at the glass door of a restaurant. A no-trespass notice will be served to the suspect once contact has been made.
