Movies in the Park
The Villa Park Public Library, Friends of the Villa Park Library and Villa Park’s Parks and Recreation department co-sponsor Movies in the Park on Mondays, Aug. 5 and Aug. 12 at approximately 8 p.m. All are invited to bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket to enjoy a movie outdoors on the big screen at Cortesi Veterans Memorial Park (near Kenilworth Ave. and Villa Ave.). Concessions will be available for purchase. In the event of inclement weather on one of the movie dates, the decision to change the location of the event will be made no later than 4:30 p.m. and the movie will be held at the Iowa Community Center (338 N Iowa Ave.). Lombard Park District programs
Aug. 6: Community Appreciation Night at Paradise Bay Water Park. As a thank you to customers and pass holders — everyone is welcome to join the park district for a free night of games, activities, and prizes. There will also be special drawings for pass holders. Aug. 7: Movie in Lilacia Park — “Trolls.” Spend your summer night relaxing under the stars with family and friends. Bring your blankets, chairs, and pack yourself a picnic snack while enjoying a free movie on the big screen.
Movies in the Park
Villa Park Recreation is offering free Movies in the Park this summer. Bring a lawn chair and the family to enjoy a movie outdoors on the big screen at Cortesi Veterans Memorial Park, 318 E. Kenilworth. This event is co-sponsored by the Recreation Department and the Villa Park Library. Concessions will be available for purchase. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Movies In the Park are held Mondays at 8 p.m. with Aug. 5 featuring “The Secret Life of Pets” and “The Lego Movie” on Aug. 12.

Summer reading finale in Villa Park Aug. 3
The Villa Park Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is ending, but that doesn’t mean the magic has to stop. The library will hold their Summer Reading Finale: The Great Scott Family Magic Show on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 1-3 p.m. at Willowbrook High School (1250 S. Ardmore Ave.).
All are invited to see this fun family magic show presented by The Great Scott, whose talent for dazzling audiences has made him a legend of entertainment. Senior Men’s Club to meet Aug. 6
The Senior Men’s Club will meet Aug. 6 at 1 p.m. in the Fireside Room of the Lombard Bible Church (not affiliated) 111 S. Park Ave. (south side entrance), Lombard. York Center Park District Movie in the Park Aug. 17
Grab your lawn chairs, blankets, and gather the kids for a movie night in the park. There will not be a bad seat in the park with our large screen.
