“An Afternoon In the Garden” EGC Garden Walk
From 10 a.m.-3 p.m., the Elmhurst Garden Club will present its 24th annual Garden Walk & Faire, “An Afternoon In The Garden.” It will include five private gardens and two public gardens. The Walk begins in Wilder Park. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 on the day of the walk. A free faire with 40+ vendors will be held in Wilder Park from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Proceeds are awarded to students majoring in environmental related studies and to community endeavors. Advance tickets may be purchased at the following Elmhurst business locations: Amlings Flowers, 331 N. York Rd.; Carousel Flower Shop, 527 S. - From 6-8 p.m., all are invited to the Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187 at Spring Rd. and Butterfield in Elmhurst, for “Cars Under the Stars & Stripes,” a car show for the whole family. This week’s theme is Corvette Night. Free and open to the public. Visitors are invited inside the Legion to enjoy $5 food specials.
- From 6:30-8:30 p.m., the Spring Road Business Association invites the public to Music At The Gazebo, Spring Road and the Prairie Path. Bring lawn chairs or blankets, picnics. NO ALCOHOL. This week: Chorus of DuPage, a capella and barbershop harmony.

From 5-8 p.m. the Elmhurst History Museum is hosting a free Family Fun Fair. Kids can ride a trackless train, play carnival games, ride a mini-Ferris wheel, take aim at the dunk tank, make a roller coaster-themed craft, and test out marble roller coaster runs. - At 10:30 a.m., the Elmhurst Public Library presents chil-dren’s musician and enter-tainer Super Stolie, who brings her love and knowledge of Spanish lan-guage and culture in a pro-gram of her own bubbly atti-tude, vibrant outfits and catchy tunes. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind program.
- From 1:30 -2:30 p.m., learn about the history and unique design of the McCormick House (1952) by Mies van der Rohe on this docent-led tour at the Elmhurst Art Museum. Last summer, new restorations revealed the facade and carport entrance for the first time in more than 25 years. Free with admission or current membership. Join Craig Burda, Director of the National Amusement Park Historical Association; archivist Jim Abbate; and photographer Bruce Cassi as they share slides and stories from several Chicagoland parks of yesteryear. The Park District offers “Par-ty in the Park,” this month at Conrad Fischer Park, where all ages are invited for fun activities. The Park District will provide bubbles, hula hoops, jump ropes, givea-ways and refreshments. Eco the Raccoon might make an appearance. Free and open to all ages.
Monday, July 22
From 1-4 p.m., the Elmhurt History Museum presents Museum Maker Monday: Moon Landing 50th Anniversary. On a traditionally-closed day for fun activities, this week the Elmhurst History Museum, kids and caregivers can play games, make a rocket ship, and picnic on the grounds, weather permitting, all in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing. Craft available while supplies last. Drop-in program appropriate for elementary age children accompanied by an adult, no registration required.

Elmhurst Farmers Market
- Every Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. now through Oct., the Elmhurst Farmers Market will be held at the municipal lot just east of York Road on Vallette. Local farmers, bakers and others will have fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, pastries, cheese, flowers, honey, soaps and more. For best parking, come before 10 a.m. or after 12 noon.
