About 200 people took part in Saturday’s 13th annual Lauren M. Kiefer 5K Family Run/Walk in Villa Park. The run/walk began and ended outside of Willowbrook High School. One photo shows members of the school’s marching band, who led the runners and walkers to the start line at Ardmore Avenue and Riordon Road. Another picture shows several runners heading east on Riordon at the start of the race. Villa Park resident Isaac Trostle (bib No. 965), who graduated from Willowbrook in 2010, is shown as he approaches the finish line during his first-place performance. Trostle, who was a member of Willowbrook’s boys cross country and track teams, finished Saturday’s race in a winning time of 17 minutes, 40.7 seconds. Maria (Cicero) Lindberg (bib No. 494) of Elmhurst won the female title and finished second overall. She completed the race in 18 minutes, 30.9 seconds. Ben Cunneen (bib No. 378) of Villa Park, who is currently a member of Willowbrook’s boys cross country and track teams, turned in a third-place time of 20:06. Cunneen recently finished his sophomore year at Willowbrook.
