Villa Park Fire Lt. Mike Barton recently retired from the Villa Park Fire Department. Barton joined the department in early 1996. He is pictured outside of Villa Park Fire Station 81 on his final day on the job. The bottom photo shows Barton (right) and two of his colleagues, firefighter/paramedics Blaise Clairardin (left) and Eric Blaskovich (center). Barton’s co-workers at the department signed an American flag, which flew above Fire Station 81 on his last day. As that day came to an end, Barton’s colleagues lowered that flag and presented it to him.
