The winners in last week’s election to fill three open seats on the Villa Park Village Board included two first-time candidates and one current trustee. Kevin Patrick, who had never run for office before, received the most votes in the four-way race for three available seats on the board. Patrick is pictured with his wife April and their three sons (left to right) Grant, Max and Benjamin on election night. Christine Murphy (lower left), who also sought elective office for the first time, won the second-most votes. Trustee David Cilella (lower right), who was appointed to the board in 2017, finished third to earn the final available seat. Trustee Donald Kase, who had been on the board for eight years, finished fourth and did not win re-election to a third full term on the board. Patrick, Murphy and Cilella will be sworn in to four-year terms in May. They will join three other trustees—Nick Cuzzone, Cheryl Tucker and Robert Wagner—and Villa Park Village President Albert Bulthuis on the board.
