Be a part of a soccer program that emphasizes athletic growth, and has a fun based, child-centered curriculum. This program has nationally and internationally qualified coaches instructing teamwork, sportsmanship, and overall athletics in a format that maximums player engagement. It also offers participants the chance to improve motor skills, and their physical, technical, tactical, and social development. All skill levels are welcome. Holy Trinity Lutheran services
Good Friday, April 19, a combined noon service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 545 S. Ardmore Ave. in Villa Park with Pastor Zak Wagner and Pastor Amy Gillespie presiding. At 7 p.m. there will be separate services held at each individual Church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lombard and St. Paul Lutheran in Villa Park, there will be no communion at either of these services. Easter Sunday, April 21, there will be a 9:30 a.m. service at Holy Trinity Lutheran featuring a Brass Ensemble, Handbell Choir, Adult Choir and the Joyful Jrs Choir singing. Pastor Amy Gillespie will be the presiding pastor with Holy Communion being served. All are welcome at God’s Table to partake in this meal. Rock and Roll Fundraiser April 28
A fundraiser to help bring the Dick Biondi documentary to PBS and beyond will be held from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Bourbon Street, 3359 W. 115th St., Merrionette Park. Children’s Day/Book Day at Villa Park Library
The Villa Park Public Library will celebrate “El día de los niños/El día de los libros” or Children’s Day/Book Day on Tuesday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Commonly known as Día, this celebration of children, families, and reading takes place yearly on April 30. Elmhurst Symphony concert May 4
Gustav Mahler’s “Symphony No. 5” will conclude the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra’s 58th season on Saturday, May 4, at 7 p.m. Music Director and Conductor Stephen Alltop will offer a multi-media, in-depth look at this masterpiece and prepare you for a transforming musical experience of a lifetime.
