Timothy Christian’s Calvin Groenewold competed in the recent IHSA boys swimming state finals meet in Winnetka at New Trier High School where he competed in the 100 breaststroke event.
Groenewold finished 27th in the preliminaries at state with a time of 59.90. and did not qualify for the final round.
Groenewold made it to state after finishing fifth in the event at the York sectional with a state-qualifying time of 59.25, which was under the state cut of 59.65.
Also at the York sectional, Groenewold finished 12th in the 100 with a time of 50.20.
