Area police departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Addison
Feb. 14
Police said Ryan J. Litt, 18, of Bloomingdale, had an original warrant out of the Addison Police Department for violation of an order of protection.
Feb. 11
William Alonzo-Funes, 29, of Addison, was charged with aggravated DUI, DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol by the driver, driving while license suspended, improper lane usage and no insurance subsequent to a traffic stop in the 100 block of Lake Street at around 1:32 a.m.
Feb. 10
Claudia E. Garcia, 19, of Elgin, was charged with DUI, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, failure to give aid or information, failure to report an accident, reckless driving, driving while license suspended, speeding, driving too fast for conditions, disobeying a stop sign, driving on a sidewalk, driving left of the center lane near an intersection and no insurance subsequent to an accident near Meadow and Grant at around 1:59 a.m.
Feb. 9
A 34-year-old Westmont man was charged with domestic battery in the 100 block of S. Lincoln Ave. at around 7:01 p.m. Police said the suspect struck a victim in the face.
Villa Park
Feb. 9
Leslie Argron, 29, of Addison, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage near Villa and North at around 3:43 a.m.
A 41-year-old Villa Park man was charged with domestic battery in the 300 block of N. Princeton at around 4:29 a.m.
Feb. 8
Robert E. Latimer, 31, of St. Charles, was charged with two counts of DUI, possession of open liquor by the driver and improper lane usage, and was issued citations for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia near North and Kramer at around 11:39 p.m.
Joseph M. Obucina, 70, of Lisle, was charged with DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash near Ardmore and Jackson at around 1:40 p.m.
Retail theft was reported at a local store at around 11 a.m. Police said an unknown suspect entered the store and removed items from display and left with the items without paying for them.
Feb. 6
Saba Nurain, 28, of Addison, was issued a citation for retail theft at a local store at around 3:18 p.m.
Jorge A. Sanchez, 22, of Villa Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1-100 block of E. Sunset at around 3:09 a.m.
James Stampley, 46, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft at a local store at around 11:58 a.m.
Feb. 5
Vanessa Vazquez, 18, of Villa Park, was charged with battery in the 400 block of N. Ellsworth at around 3:48 p.m.
Feb. 4
Juan K. Arington, 44, of Glendale Heights, was charged with two counts of DUI, driving while license suspended, improper lane usage and using an electronic communication device while driving near North and Addison at around 5:18 a.m.
Criminal trespass was reported in the 400 block of W. St. Charles at around 10:32 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect entered a vehicle parked in the parking lot. Personal items appeared to have been gone through, and the front driver’s and passenger’s side doors left open. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Jan. 31-Feb. 4
Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 200 block of W. Stone. Police said an unknown suspect forced entry to an unoccupied box truck sometime between the above dates and stole several tools.
Feb. 3
Police said that sometime overnight, an unknown suspect/vehicle struck a stop sign at the intersection of Monroe and Myrtle and left without reporting the damage.
