The IC Catholic Prep boys cross-country team finished fifth in conference this season.
“Our team strength was learning how to spread out the race and not leaving it all for the kick,” said coach Jeff Fredrickson. “They improved on their racing techniques. What impressed me the most was how they improved their times on courses that we ran on a couple times.”
The Knights were bolstered by the performances of Zach Jordan and Liam Dacre. “When returning junior Jacob Schmidt went down with an injury, Zach Jordan picked up the slack and so did returning sophomore Liam Dacre who started challenging Zach for the top spot,” Fredrickson noted.
Fredrickson said the next goal on the list is to get the team to the state meet. “Even though the team has made it six consecutive years to the sectional meet, we would like to make it down to Peoria,” he said.
